Hmmmm. I don’t know if it’s because I’ve been on a fantasy kick recently, or because I’ve read a lot of true YA books (no spice / minor insinuation) but this was intense.

It was a cute little small town romance but the spicy scenes kinda had me wincing a bit, it ruined it a bit for me and I kind of wanted more plot, more cute domestic fluff but it was certainly something. Jasper was very demanding which I didn’t particularly like, but it was consensual so I didn’t have a major problem with it.

I just wanted to get this over with by the last 15%.

I’m quite surprised as I did really enjoy the previous two books. Maybe it was because with Cade and Willa there was Luke in there to add some family dynamic

There was also a major lack in comic relief here - less com more rom, unlike the past 2 books it wasn’t really enjoying for me to read. Kind of like a stepping stone in this series as I’m sure Theo will be hilarious.

Powerless was quite disappointing to me in comparison to the other two books in the series.

I’ll always love a friends to lovers story. Just like the rest of this series its pretty good, well written and entertaining. I just keep feeling like it’s missing something

Man oh man Elise Silver is the queen of cowboy romance. And I’m loving them but I will say this one wasn’t my favorite in the Chestnut Springs series. Jasper failed to make me swoon as much as Cade and Willa basically ruined me for another FMC even though Sloane was sweet and great. Did I like it? Yes, was it my fave? No. Am I still gonna plow through these books. Absolutely

I had high hopes for this book but it just did not hit like I was anticipating it would :/
