There was a lot going in this book -- in a fun a light hearted way. I’m afraid it’s a bit hard to explain, but basically you have Lauren who’s married to Leo. And they have three rambunctious kids and live in a historic brownstone atop a bar called The Sweet Spot in Greenwich Village. Lauren designs plates and other ceramics for Felicity who recently stole the husband of Melinda by becoming pregnant with his child. Melinda is the new secretary at Lauren’s kids’ school, and she just inadvertently got Olivia fired from her assistant buyer’s position at one of Felicity’s stores. Oh, and Olivia’s dad, Dan, operates The Sweet Spot.
If that sounds complicated, it’s because it is, but somehow author Amy Poeppel tells their interweaving stories flawlessly. Eventually, Lauren, Olivia, Melinda, and Lauren’s mom Evelyn end up taking care of Felicity and her new husband’s baby as his parents accidentally-but-on-purpose abandoned him.
It makes no sense and yet somehow, it’s perfect. Each character, even Lauren and Leo’s children, is well developed with a great arc throughout the chaos of the book. You even end up liking characters that you initially probably hated because Poeppel does such a good job of making them real.
This is another book that defies genre for me because it has a little bit of everything, but I loved it, and I think I need read more books like it.
A fun little comedy of errors. The book jacket description is a bit deceptive (and confusing), you don't get to that part of the book until about halfway through. There is a lot going on in this book. An enjoyable read.

If you need something to cleanse your palette after a deep or heavy book, this would be fantastic for that.
It’s light and funny. The humor carries all though out the book. Just when you think it can’t be any more chaotic…..it is.
Romance and family life….kids and dogs….
It’s just a sweet, easy read.

Really enjoyed it.
Thoroughly enjoyed this sweet romp. It was very Love Actually but even more purposeful in it's overlapping stories and I adored the cast of weirdos.
I did not finish this book. When I saw the 4 stars it got, I was excited to start it. However I read through to 20% done and realized it just wasn't for me. Didn't pique my interest and it was just meh. I was expecting a fun rom com (due to the cover) but it just wasn't it.
