Revenge never felt so sweet until it didn’t. This book was pretty funny and over the top but it was exactly what I needed. The characters are so funny on their own but when they are put together it's just comedy. Melinda's husband of 30 years decides to leave her for a younger woman, Felicity and she's also pregnant. It's funny cause this guy is old to even be thinking about kids. So Melinda works up a plan to seek revenge. The only issue there is so many people in the crossfire it becomes a cluster fuck. At times it does get confusing because there are so many characters but they all intertwine and it all makes sense in the end.

I picked this as one of my Aardvark Book Club selections and boy am I glad I did!!

The writing was smart and funny. There were many characters in this story but somehow the author seamlessly connects them to each-other and keeping track of them came naturally to me.

I loved how light this book felt and at times especially with the dialogue amongst the characters how I would just burst out laughing. Waverly was my favorite character by far and having New York City, specifically Greenwich village, added to the whimsical escapism that was this book.

After reading this, I went and purchased all of Amy Poeppel’s books.

What a funny and adorable book! Quite a cast of different characters but it’s fun to see how their lives were all connected. I enjoyed the last bit with the letters and emails where you find out things about characters not related to the one writing the email. It was a nice change of pace and a different way to tell the story without drawing things out longer than they needed to be.
emotional funny lighthearted

I enjoyed this story of people working through difficult relationships. There were lots of laughs, with silly situations and some incredible coincidences, and the characters were exaggerated for humor but also felt real and relatable. Even the most un-likeable character got a shot at redemption in the end. I'd read something else by Poeppel!
