This is a hard one for me to review - I still feel like I'm processing what I read. For the first 3/4 of the book, it was very focused on a Texas town that worships football focusing on how that impacts a variety of humans, especially when a star player goes missing and then the last 1/4 took some turns with major twisty horror vibes. I will say this kept me reading as I wanted to know what the heck was going on, and it certainly did deliver on telling me just what the heck was going on. There were just a lot of layers y'all. Goodness.

Holy shit, this book is dark! Legit, and I know this is super cliché to say, legit could not put it down. I even got the audiobook so I could continue the story when I wasn't able to read.

I can't really describe the book in an effective way. I've read reviews calling it Stephen King-esque, and I would agree. It's a story of dark goings-on in a small town with a creepy monster lying in the shadows. And it would have been a hell of a solid holy-fuck kind of story without the monster aspect.

It's so good. Damn good. It's one of those books that I instantly began to miss the moment I finished it. Truly looking forward to what other stories John Fram has to share.

It was nightmare-like situation reading this book, you feel like you're trapped in this town that gut feeling like you're being watched and will never escape that's what it gave me also anxiety and dread, such a trip.


Also people around our mc are giving mad awful vibe so you really don't know which one to trust

I really like the mystery on the first plot but not really when it was revealed I don't know something about just felt off.
It doesn't make any sense why it's there on the first place like it kinda Gave us a brief explanation towards the end like what's its purpose and what does if want but why tho because its hungry?
That's pretty lame

And why does it have to be queer people to be the victims and the villains it was so questionable how this characters was portrayed and somewhat stereotypical
