This would have probably been a five star for me if there had been even a little bit of chill with the footnotes. There were just so many. If you like the first Magnolia Parks universe book, you will probably like this. The timeline overlaps substantially, so you could probably do a tandem read if you wanted, but I liked being able to fully focus on Daisy as the main titular character in this one. I liked her so much better than Magnolia, and the conflicts in this and the draw she has to Romeo, her equivalent of BJ, at least has some depth to it both with the trauma they have gone through as well as the reason they broke up. While this still had an equal amount of toxic drama, the criminal element made this a little more high stakes which, to me, made it more enjoyable than Magnolia Parks book 1.

Wow! That ducking ending wow, was in absolute shock!Daisy and Christian are perfect, and poor Julian

just letting you know that i am physically unwell as i write this review bc i am on the floor, bawled up on my carpet going through different stages of grief. christian and daisy have my entire heart and i would gladly give my firstborn just to make them happy. i have a thing for two broken people who find their ways to each other and see that they’re beautiful and they are each other’s hope and light.

i see myself in daisy so much it literally baffled me. she is now my number one babygal and i will defend her with my entire being. idc if shes toxic or if ppl call her that bc there was at some point in my life where i reacted the same way she did in one scene and idc if im toxic too but we’re human and thats why i love her sm. her and christian. dont get my started with the freckle shit i bawled on the spot.

christian and daisy were so refreshing to read about that i loved their inner monologues when describing the other. i love reading about their pining for each other and the want to let the other know of the depth of how they feel but everything around them just keeps holding it back. i loved this book i will keep it with me forever. i dont care if you say i need a therapist after this bc i think i do but who gives a shit. i want my two babies happy.

“i didn’t even want to love her in the first place, but here we are and i do, and i wouldn’t take it back now. couldn’t. even if i could, i couldn’t because i’ll love her ‘till i die. whether i have her or not, whether she wants me back or not, i’m in even if she’s out.”

DID NOT FINISH

It was too slow & too petty in an uninteresting way.

I loved this one sooo much more than magnolia it’s not even funny. Daisy is my queen

Julian gave me the ick

4.5

Settling on this rating because I can’t decide wether or not i actually liked this one. I really love Christian but his occupation confused me and I once again was reading a mf love triangle (my least fav). Daisy is annoying a lot of the time and Julian is hot
