Crying & throwing up. I loved magnolia parks but I LOVE Daisy & Christian so much! This book was out of this world amazing. I loved getting to know Christian more. I have never loved so many side characters as I did in this book. This book was gut wrenching in so many different ways. Found family, crime family, childhood best friends, friends to lovers, literally everything in 1 book. Christian and Daisy HAVE to be end game. Read this book asap
OK, going into the Magnolia Parks universe was a slow start for me. Book 1, I found hard to get through and almost DNFed multiple times, but those last chapters were amazing! Now, book 2- Daisy Haites was everything!!! I loved Daisy’s character more, I love the MMC more. The story was better, the side characters were better. This book was more heartbreaking and beautiful and tragic!!! Literally this is what makes me want to keep reading this series!

This one took a little bit more time to get into than the first, but once it caught its stride, I was invested! It did take a very long time to finish the audiobook, though.
I wasn't expecting a triple POV story, but I liked the added layers it brought to the narrative. Learning more about Daisy's family, their lifestyle, and how hectic and dangerous her life has always been really brought her into a new light. It was great finally getting to pull back the curtain and learn who she really was and why she appeared so standoffish in the first book. She's truly been through hell on Earth, and all the girl wants to do is do some laundry and go for a drive unsupervised. Poor Daisy...
I liked being able to be in Christian and Daisy's heads simultaneously regarding how they felt their relationship was progressing, and much like Magnolia and BJ, we got the dysfunction of trauma bonded childhood relationships with Romeo and Daisy. Their back and forth killed me, and I couldn't help but root again them in favor of Christian.
Watching Julian slowly sink into the darker layers of his job and lifestyle was heartbreaking and a little scary at times, and toward the end when things really kicked up, I absolutely could not stand him or the choices he made.
It was neat knowing that this whole story was taking place at the same time as the first book, and I liked how a few scenes from that story played back out in this one from other characters' perspectives. Needless to say, I'm hooked and am moving on to book number 3!

3.75 stars. I didn’t feel as deeply connected to Christian and Daisy as I did with BJ and Magnolia. Maybe that’s just me, but I didn’t feel the yearning or the emotional weight as much, so I wasn’t as invested in the ups and downs of their roller coaster. But then the epilogue—going back to Magnolia—absolutely shattered me. Still, I’m definitely excited to keep going with the series!
