Another fun, romantic, cute, and funny standalone by Kasie West. I absolutely loved it. It was a good book to read while I was unwinding and, well, supposed to be sleeping actually, but I stayed up a few extra hours just to finish it in one go.
The idea about anonymous pen pals was very intriguing to me. I've always loved secret-identity-related themes, though I must say I was a little disappointed by how and when the two pen pals discovered each other identities. No spoilers!
Lily's character was a bit of a turn-off for me. I never really understood certain reactions to people she met; they seemed almost childish. Yes, she was awkward and she was introverted and she had only one friend and she never had any time for herself because of her crazy family, but I thought she was a little judgmental about everyone for no reason. And I didn't really see why she had only one friend. She was rather likable and artistic and she actually did get along pretty well with whomever she was with in any situation... except for, of course, her arch enemy Cade.
I guess I just never really figured out Lily's character. In fact, I liked her best friend better. I felt that her characterization was done better.
Apart from the female lead, everything else seemed to tie in together really well. It was fun, quick, and easy read.
Happy reading!

What a perfectly adorable book!

I Like You|Kasie West|https://d2arxad8u2l0g7.cloudfront.net/books/1442247987s/25486998.jpg|45261093] wasn't the most suspenseful book.It may also not have been the most original. But I loved the idea of a mystery pen pal - and I have made a few friends that way myself (though no desks were defaced in the making of my friendships). The book was cute, fun and really entertaining. It could have been a little more humourous, but I'm not complaining. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it, so I don't care that there may have been more than a few clichés in there. If you're looking for something light and guaranteed to make you feel good, you've found it. I'm definitely going to be picking up more [a:Kasie West|5027236|Kasie West|https://d2arxad8u2l0g7.cloudfront.net/authors/1450586450p2/5027236.jpg] now.

Spoiler
In fact, I guessed the mystery letter writer pretty much right off the bat, what with there being only 3 possible guys introduced in the book.
I really liked this! the letters were just so cute and Lily and Cade worked so well together. also enjoyed Lily's family!

I'll be honest. I was kind of detached the first hundred pages of this book. I was really not feeling the romance. Aside from not really liking both of the characters at first, the progress really affected my first impression. Everyone who started this book surely knew who was Lily's secret pen pal. It was not exactly a mystery for the readers. Knowing who it was but hadn't seen enough face-to-face interaction with both of them until a hundred-page mark made me impatient. I mean, that was already one-third of the book, but all I saw was the veeeery limited physical exchange between them, not really ideal for romance. Yes, I know. They were more interacting in letters and it was the first point of the story. That the slow progress was exactly the building up the author wanted for her readers. But it also made me hesitate and think twice if I would really like it.
However, after that hundred-page mark, oh boy! My anticipation with where the story would lead me started to grow. It was exactly the moment Lily discovered who really was her secret pen pal. That was where I became eager. The interaction outside the letter really started and for me, that was when the story really started. That was also where my adoration with Lily and Cade developed. I mean, I didn't really like their limited childish banter pre-letters. But then I started to find it really cute after Lily learned the truth. I realized the reason was because it was when I really saw the connection between them, that there was really a romance building up, which I initially thought was hard to see. And that they really looked cute together.
Overall, I really liked this book so much! It was sooo cute. It was light, fun, fluffy, sweet and easy read. I was literally smiling widely that it seriously made my mouth ached. I started listening to the audiobook before midnight and made my way until four in the morning. I wouldn't even notice the time if I hadn't needed to use the bathroom. I was already 90 percent of my audiobook that time and my eyes were already starting to drop. I just finished the last 10 percent after waking up. So basically, I read this book in one sitting. That's how much I adored this book. I gave up my precious sleep just to finish it quickly!
As of now, I really loved Kasie West. Regardless that I have only read two of her books (this one and By Your Side), those two books were so adorable and a very worth read! I would definitely pick up her other books soon!

The beginning was kind of slow and I knew who the secret note taker was as soon as he was introduced. I didn't really like Lily as a character but I loved the "secret" main love interest so it made the book better after about 150 pages. I would have rated this book 3 stars but the last 100 pages were actually super cute so it won an extra star!
This was such an adorable contemporary.
I was totally getting Jenny Han vibes.
I don't even care that I could call who the guy was about 30% through.
Even if it was kinda predictable. Not even.
Usually it does, but with this book. It was too sweet.
On the plus side...this was a super quick read.
Though, I just wish we got a bit more with them at the end. I wanted more. Like to never end.
Definitely re-readable material if I don't have any sweet contemporaries on hand.

I love a good romance, and this book delivered--mostly. The romance is the central point of the book, so there's no underlying story, theme, or message. With that being said, it had a cute plot and was well-written.
I'd recommend this book to any teenage girl who loves a clean romance.

It was a perfect and cute and all that my heart needed and expected from Kasie West.
It was very predictable but personally I don't mind that. It was infuriating and painful but so cute and adorable and I was screaming because it hurt so much. I fell in love with the characters and their letters brought me so much happiness - defiantly the high light of the book for me.
The ending is where it falls down - majority of it is wrapped up nicely but the song competition is kind of left unattended and that was a driving factor in the book it was odd it wasn't included in an epilogue or something? Hence why I gave it 4 stars and not 5. But nevertheless it was a great read and I recommend.
