bizarre but in a good way?

This is an odd one. For most of the story you don’t really know what is going on... actually for all. But the style and flow of the words draws you in and you have to know more about what happens in this watermelon sugar world that is so like ours but just a bit different

Such an easy and simple read due to Brautigan’s very literal writing style, but I really enjoyed it

brautigan should try yoga lowkey

Here's what I got from this book: our narrator with no name witnessed his parents being eaten by talking tigers and now that the tigers are all dead, he's writing the first book that's been written in a lifetime because he sucks at sculpting. Oh, and the sun shines a different color every day and they make everything out of watermelon sugar.

It reads very quickly and I didn't find answers to my myriad of questions, but don't let that stop you from reading it. Apparently, Brautigan wrote it after spending time in a commune. Perhaps that's all the answer that is necessary.

Food: acid trip. Maybe that's not really food, but it's something that's ingested, right?

Hilariously bad, pretentious drivel. No redeeming qualities.

Such dull and pretentious writing!!! There is no real plot. What little plot there is is completely uninteresting. I kept thinking if I keep reading it has to get better, but it never did and then it was just over. What a waste of paper and about an hour of my time gone. This book is so overrated and is honestly just wanted to chuck it in a garbage bin.
