"What I feel for Rocky is something crafted solely for him and me."

"Phoebe Graves has been my best friend, my sister, my girlfriend, my lover, my wife. For all that we’ve pretended to be, and all the roles we’ve taken, I’m one hundred percent sure that I have zero idea what she really is to me. No fucking clue. I’m not sure a word exists for it."

I just wasn't feeling it and it wasn't gripping enough.

✧.* “You’re not invited in, Rocky.” “And I’m not a fucking vampire. I don’t need an invitation.”

Honestly, this book peaked when the above was said and that was in the first 10%. I think this had a lot of potential, it is a really unique set up about 2 con artist families and when Phoebe and her best friend decide they want to live honestly was defo intriguing. But, the further we got the weaker the story and plot got.

the end gagged me ngl but everything else was.. eh

This was a cute read. I like the creative story behind it. I thought there were a lot of parts that were funny, had me on the edge of my seat and also had me blushing. I loved listening to both of the MC's sides to their relationship. What a good listen about a grifting. Oh and if you like best friends' brother- this is a yes.

I read this when it came out last year. It was one of my most anticipated reads of the year, and my first time reading something from Krista & Becca Ritchie outside of the Addicted universe. And honestly? It didn’t disappoint. While it wasn’t perfect, Dishonestly Yours was an entertaining book that left on a good cliffhanger.

This book centers on Phoebe and Rocky, two former(ish) con artists, neither of which is doing a very good job at keeping their feelings buried. It’s giving angst, grumpy/grumpier, best friend’s brother, and there’s some fake dating.

This is definitely a “foundation book.” At nearly 500 pages, the pacing is slow at times. It seemed like it was a lot fighting between Rocky and Phoebe. There were parts where I wished the tension would break or that something big would finally happen. But in retrospect, I can appreciate that this story isn’t about big twists (until the end. It’s about emotional groundwork, identity, and the hard, quiet work of trying to be honest for the first time.

In transparency, I’ve already read the second book at the time of this review so I have a better review now that I see how this book fits into the overall series.  Think this was a strong, slow, and thoughtful start.

I’m a big KBR fan so I was super super excited to start this one (even more so when I found it at Barnes a day early) but I was unfortunately disappointed. I was bored for most of the book, and was only sucked in for the last 30-40 pages. I’m hoping the next one is better for me

For having every single romance book trope this was boring?? The idea of a two families who make their livings off high risk con jobs would make you think there would be a lot of action. Wrong lol. The characters and writing weren’t that bad but nothing really happens until the last 10% of the book.
