i’m sorry, we just end it that way????? after everything we just found out/speculate…

I will say that this book took a little bit to get fully invested in to and that is the only reason this book isn’t a 5 star for me. now once it picked up I was obsessed. the Ritchie sisters know how to write banter, yearning, and twists.

Phoebe & Rocky have my heart and I want them to be able to make it work so i’m hoping with what happened at the end won’t mess that up. I loved the past & present storylines with them and it really helped you understand why they thought and knew they couldn’t really be together unless they got away from their parents. I do know that I don’t like this thing with Phoebe & Jake and I feel like he’s just going to keep prolonging their “relationship”.

I felt like all the other characters took a backseat and we didn’t find out too much about them so maybe that will change in the next books.

Krista and Becca Ritchie did an amazing job writing this book. The cover is stunning, and I knew of them from the Addicted series, so I was excited to read this.

Phoebe and her family have been in the conning business for a very long time. Thank goodness she has her best friend, Hailey, by her side during the tough times. Conning is great, but what if you want to live a normal life? Can Phoebe and the crew leave the con artist world behind and start fresh, or will the past come back to haunt them?

Phoebe and Hailey’s friendship is one you would wish for. They would do literally ANYTHING for each other, and that is shown in this book. Their story was heartfelt and shows what a true best friend relationship is.

Rocky is every woman’s dream, especially Phoebe’s. I love their relationship, how they are there for each other no mather what. They met when they were kids, and have been friends ever since. However, there is more feelings between them that are growing.

This book was amazing. I am not a slow burn gal normally, but the angst between Phoebe and Rocky is *steamy*! I love the tension between them, and their dynamic is so die for. The twists and turns in this book had my jaw on the floor. I was hooked from the first pages and read this book in one sitting.

Overall, I loved the dynamic between characters and enjoyed the backstory about how they became con artists. I cannot wait to see where this story goes, and how the parents come into play. 5 ⭐️ from me!

Thank you to Valentine PR and Krista and Becca Ritchie for letting me read and review this AHMAZING book!

3.5 stars

I read this when it came out last year. It was one of my most anticipated reads of the year, and my first time reading something from Krista & Becca Ritchie outside of the Addicted universe. And honestly? It didn’t disappoint. While it wasn’t perfect, Dishonestly Yours was an entertaining book that left on a good cliffhanger.

This book centers on Phoebe and Rocky—two former(ish) con artists, neither of which is doing a very good job at keeping their feelings buried. It’s giving angst, grumpy/grumpier, best friend’s brother, and there’s some fake dating.

This is definitely a “foundation book.” At nearly 500 pages, the pacing is slow at times. It seemed like it was a lot fighting between Rocky and Phoebe. There were parts where I wished the tension would break or that something big would finally happen. But in retrospect, I can appreciate that this story isn’t about big twists (until the end)—it’s about emotional groundwork, identity, and the hard, quiet work of trying to be honest for the first time.

In transparency, I’ve already read the second book at the time of this review so I have a better review now that I see how this book fits into the overall series. Think this was a strong, slow, and thoughtful start.

I read this book back in May and adored everything about it.

I was so afraid of starting a new series by KBR. Saying goodbye to the Like Us series in January was one of the hardest things that ever happened in my bookish life. But if there’s ANYONE who can catch me with a single book is this duo.

This particular book was amazing. The plot was so peculiar and different from everything I ever read - I was not expecting to love this one as much as I did - because I became completely obsessed with this world and this group!

It’s a slow-burn romance but so fast paced - I read it in one sitting and regret nothing. Their writing is still one of my favorites ever and Krista&Becca are truly storytellers - knowing exactly how to keep everyone addicted to their stories.

But let’s focus on this new world: the group was amazing and the plot is INSANE. This was a journey, I was on the edge of my seat all the freaking time and I can’t believe book 2 is not out yet.

I became obsessed with Phoebe and Rocky and I need more and more of them.

It’s a great time to be alive when we are able to read a whole new world by this amazing author duo.

Forst thoughts:
I just need to cry my eyes out because this book did not last forever as I was expecting. I refuse to leave this world.

That's it. Thank you

I really like the found family, excited to read the second book!
