I'm going to do a short review because I've read this so long ago, but here is what I remember with my little fish memory.

I really liked how mysterious this one was compared to the previous books. It really kept me on the edge of my seat, and I was wondering how our characters would overcome all that was happening. While there is still good romance in there, I'd say that it was more focused on the plot, which was understandable and after book 3 being more about the relationship it made for a different vibe that I truly enjoyed.

As always with Sophie Lark's books, the characters are well crafted which makes it easy to fall for them, and she's a good storyteller that writes in a way where it's so effortless to imagine it all. It is truly like you are there with the characters.

All in all, a good read once again, and I'm excited for the final book, that is for sure!

Didn’t see that coming…

I have enjoyed every Kingmakers book and The Spy is no exception. I did not expect the twists in this book. I enjoyed reading The Spy and Nix come together after battling through their feelings. I love how everything comes together in the end and we as readers get glimpses of everyones (from the Kingmakers series) HEA. My heart was bursting for all the HEA.

read all of this basically in one day. i was hoping that ares or “rafe” got his own book and i am veryyyyy pleased. i loved nix so much. the anxiety i had throughout this book was crazy. but in a good way. and i did indeed gasp out loud a couple of times. and the very end with all of their povs?? ts made me sick i love these characters so much.

Most excellent and satisfying end to this 5 star series! This final year at Kingmakers was a doozy! This story was edge-of-your-seat exciting to me. I especially loved the crossover and next generation characters from the Colors of Crime/Underworld series, including the flashback scenes.

I also really loved the epilogue, which included a peak from each of the couples of this series, as well as the side characters we met along the way. A good epilogue always gives me a sense of completion to a story; one where the lingering loose ends are tied up and resolved. This one certainly did that.

Although, now I only want more!

More, please!
