A perfect addition to the H2H line

Eden Finley The Closet
This little story was really cute! Kable suddenly finds himself the recipient of his deceased uncle's home and possessions. Using the Heart2heart classifieds he gets a little help cleaning out the house. It's a story of finding yourself and maybe love along the way.

KM Neuhold The Family Reunion
Fake boyfriend anyone? This is absolutely one of my favorite tropes. It all starts with an ad placed in the Heart2heart classifieds. Lawrence with the encouragement of his roommate answers the add, which promises a free week long vacation to a fancy resort in Miami. It turns out that Roman is sexy AF and he has some interesting piercings which instantly turn Law's crank! What could possibly go wrong? This story is adorable and definitely worth the read if you like unexpected love.

Lucy Lennox the Treehouse
A chance encounter and one night of passion leaves Harvey wanting more. Little does he know, fate will bring them back together through a Heart2heart classified ad. Bryn is a single father of twins. He doesn't have the skills or the time to build his daughters the tree house they deserve so, with a little nudge from a friend, he places an ad for help. Sparks fly when Harvey and Bryn meet again and the chemistry is just as hot as they both remember.

Great anthology with a wide variety of wonderful stories!
There is something for everyone in there, from fake-dating and enemies-to-lovers to second-chance and friends-to-lovers and a variety of meet-cutes. The order of the stories was a bit weird though, placing some similar ones right after one another which was unfortunate in my opinion.

All characters are gay, with one or two maybe being bi and one possible demisexual. I would have wished for more diversity there, since this is an anthology for a LGBTQ charity after all. Also all protagonists were cis which kinda sucked, with the exception of one (1) side character who uses they/them pronouns.

All stories have content warnings for sex on-page. Overall there are not a lot of CWs, but I included the most important ones for each story together with the individual ratings and short comments.

The Closet - Eden Finley: 4 stars
Great start for the anthology. It sets the scene, but it has a bittersweet undertone, and a bit of a self-discovery theme.
CWs: cancer, homophobia.

The Book - Aimee Nicole Walker: 2.5 stars
Cute but too cliché at parts.

The Date - Annabeth Albert: 5 stars
Suuuuper cute, loved the characters, the premise and the execution!

The Yarn Wrangler - Charlie Cochet: 1.5 stars
This one started out very interesting with a lot of potential, but the execution and combination of the particular elements really didn't work out for me. There were super weird time skips that threw me off and I hated the conflict and the way Bonner was portrayed. I've had similar issues with other books by this author, so maybe her style just doesn't click with me.

Dork Lord - Damon Suede: 3 stars
Whacky and weird. Loved the D&D parts, but the writing style, while intriguing, mostly confused me. Another case of the author's particular style just not clicking with me.

The Top Shelf - Hailey Turner: 4 stars
This one was super funny and cute! There was no drama, which I appreciated, and the title is descriptive and meant exactly what I thought it would.

The Family Reunion - K.M. Neuhold: 4 stars
Has a bit of a more serious tone than the others but it was still fun. I liked the opposites attract theme a lot and it was well executed. The ending was too abrupt however.

The Last Drop - Layla Reyne: 3.5 stars
Cute, I liked the chemistry between the characters, but I couldn't have cared less for all the alcohol - and there was so much talk about it and about drinks, and since I don't drink and have no interest in that area I didn't understand any of it, which quickly got tedious.
CWs for lots of alcohol, obviously.

The Dog Walker - Lily Morton: 3.5 stars
Would have liked it better if it didn't start in the middle of the story when the characters had already met. On the one hand this was refreshing as most stories are about first meetings, but I just had a hard time getting invested in the relationship this way.
CWs for homophobia, small town setting; mentions of: family died in fire, car accident, pet gets hurt, child becomes orphan.

The Treehouse - Lucy Lennox: 5 stars
Tooth-achingly sweet in the best possibly way! Moved rather fast towards the end and I would have liked an epilogue but I loved all the little details of this story.

The Restoration - Mary Calmes: 5 stars
Oh my god all the stars for this one. Totally unexpected and totally different from all the others, and this is my personal favorite of the anthology. I adored the way it played with the assumptions of the reader about what would happen, just to turn it all around again. I loved how well established the background characters were for a short story.
CWs: separation of established couple, mentions of cheating and violence, as well as spouse being deployed.

The Vase - May Archer: 4 stars
Sounded boring at first but then turned into a pleasant surprise! I wish some details had been handled more in depth though.

The Helping Hand - Nora Phoenix: 5 stars
Not gonna lie, I was super wary of this one. I read a book with a smiliar title by this author and had huge issues with it, but I'm happy to say that this short story was great!!! It turns stereotypes around which I'm always a fan on, was very cute, and has fat rep!

The Dream Machine - Piper Scott writing as Emma Alcott: 3.5 stars
So sweet it was almost cheesy! I liked the characters together, but I didnt really understand what was going on in the background - the dream machine itself was cool but felt so inconsequential?? I also wasn't sure if this was supposed to have a vague mystery/supernatural touch or not.

The Wedding Date - Susan Hawke: 3 stars
Started out as the calmest and most laid back story and had a wonderful atmosphere, then turned 180° and absolutely ridiculous (and not in a good way, but in a way that took me aback, a problem I've had with this author before.) It could have been 5 stars if not for that. Loved the kitties and the rest otherwise though, there was so much going on in the background that I wish it had been longer.
CWs: hostile small town setting, mentions of cancer and being wrongfully accused of cheating.

The Wrong Guy - Sloane Kennedy: 4 stars
The only story with a protagonist who didn't realize his attraction to other men before. The overall vibe wasn't really my jam, but it was nice and very different from the other stories, which I can appreciate. I think it would have worked better to have this story in the middle of the anthology rather than at the very end, though.
CWs: homophobia, small-minded small town setting.

I received an ARC and reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

All the love in the world for all the stories

This book is just as good as the previous incarnations. I adored all the stories in here.
I had read books by all the authors in here and I have to admit now I must go back and read some that I might have forgotten.
Each story had a different aspect that called out to me.
Layla Reyne’s prequel to her amazing Dine with me helped satisfy the reconnection.
Annabeth Albert made me hungry and also made me sigh with Xavier’s strength and belief.
Charlie Cochet was just so sweet and adorable and made me laugh.
Sloane Kennedy’s story made me ache and hope. I felt so much for her characters and I hope they persevere.
I could wax poetic over all these great stories. But go out and get this book.
It’s for charity and it’s just plain amazing.

I didn’t read each story – I’m not familiar with each author and just read those I am familiar with. I may go back at some point and read those I missed as anthologies can be a good way to get a taste of an author’s work but aren’t always a fair way to judge what they can do.

The Date - Annabeth Albert – 4 Stars
Marine and a shy, awkward, nerdy foodie meet for a surprise dinner date for a food blog. This is predictable but cute.

Dork Lord – Damon Suede – DNF
I tried this one but couldn’t get past the cheesy inner dialog of character…gave up about 25% in after highlighting too much stuff that made me cringe. Not for me but other folks have loved it…

The Family Reunion – K.M. Neuhold – 4 Stars
I loved both the characters in this one and their opposite outlooks on life. Roman living life to its fullest and Lawrence studying all the time and never living. There’s a bit of heaviness with Roman’s family baggage but it’s mended quickly. My only complaint is the abrupt ending.

The Last Drop – Layla Reyne – 3.5 Stars
For those of you that have read Ms. Reyne’s Dine With Me (DWM), you’ll have a bit of a spoiler for this one as the main characters are Greg (Miller’s best friend, who makes an appearance) and Tony. Greg is a side character in DWM and we know the outcome of his meeting Tony from that book. This is a prequel to that story. There is a lot about food and drinks in this book too…just like dine with me. It’s cute and there is a lot of passion between Greg and Tony. Thankfully this is a novella, so we get to the passion quickly.

The Dog Walker – Lily Morton – 4.5 Stars
This is a May to December romance; heavy on the feels and true to a couple other books I’ve read by Ms. Morton chock full of family drama and sadness. Both characters are surprisingly complex and perfect for each other. I would love to read a full version of this story!

Those are all the stories I read. There’s definitely someone for everyone, this is only available for a limited time and it’s for charity. You have no excuse not to get it today!

Average rating of the stories I've read: 4.3 stars.

Helping Hand - Nora Phoenix
3 stars.
Cute story, but I think it would have been better as a full story, as that is more Nora Phoenix' specialty, in my opinion. Her writing style and character arches just leans towards longer stories.

The Dog Walker - Lily Morton
5 stars.
Would be really good as a full-length novel, but works as a short story also.

The Wrong Guy - Sloane Kennedy
5 stars.
All the love for this tearjerking friends-to-lovers story.

Once again Heart2Heart knocks it put of the park as an anthology. Of course with this group of authors how could it not? I enjoyed all the stories as usual and I look forward to reading the next volume.

The Treehouse is a short, fun, hot story by the talented Lucy Lennox. I'm a huge fan of Lucy's and her fantastic writing and characters. What starts out as a classified ad in the Heart2Heart app, ends in the best night of Harvey's life. The perfect man, the intimacy, the sex. Then two years later another ad to help build a treehouse brings Harvey face to face with his one nigh stand, Bryn. The sparks and longing are still there. It's unexpected but the answer to both their dreams. The years didn't diminish the intense attraction and now that they have another chance, they aren't letting each other get away again. I loved this story! It was short, but it had the right amount of emotion, humor, sexiness and family that we expect from Lucy! I'm hoping to see more from Harvey and Bryn!

"Hello. My name is Bryn Hughes. Nice to meet your handsome fucking face."

The Date by Annabeth Albert is a short story full of fun, food and sexiness. Damien needs a date for a Valentine's Day dinner so he posts an add in the Heart2Heart app. He's a foodie and just wants someone to eat, enjoy and laugh with. Xavier is marine who's deployed, but going home soon, and comes across the ad. He's intrigued by Damien and after a few messages, he can't wait to meet him. Damien is excited for his date, but he's nervous. He didn't expect to be this attracted to Xavier. As the night goes on, the chemistry gets stronger. What can one little taste hurt? One night with Damien isn't enough for Xavier, but he needs to convince Damien he wants more and more. I loved these two men! Opposites, but they just click. They are fun and open and honest and I loved every word!

"What I really want to do is kiss you, preferably behind a closed door and not right here on a busy sidewalk. Although, I am tempted. Man, am I tempted."

The Wrong Guy is a short, emotional, sexy story from one of my favorite authors, Sloane Kennedy. Jackson and Travis are best friends and work on a ranch together. Travis likes women. Period. Until he gets a glimpse of Jackson all wet and soapy. Now he's not sure of anything. But when he finds out Jackson posted an ad in the Heart2Heart app looking for a man he met, he knows he's not going to allow that to happen. Jackson is his and he's not going to lose him. Jackson doesn't know what's going on with Travis, but he needs to stop having feelings for his best friend and move on. Then Travis kisses him and everything changes. Travis wants more. Jackson wants Travis. I loved this story! Best friends to lovers and sexy cowboys. Yes, please!

"I need you."
"Travis."
"I don't know what's happening to men, but I know it's real."
