I think this book is an interesting way to kind of get a trailer of Frida’s life and history, along with some of the legacy she left behind! I do wish it had been a little concise at times, there were certain events mentioned almost repeatedly. But overall, an interesting listen!

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an audiobook ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Frida Kahlo was undeniably one-of-a-kind and incredibly talented. People who are not familiar with Frida's life, or somewhat familiar, will learn a lot from this novel. The author, Arianna Davis, does an excellent job of bringing Frida back to life, where readers will be captivated by her tragedies, culture, love life, art, politics, and lifestyle.

The narrator, Marisa Blake, was easy to listen to as she read aloud Frida's biography combined with excerpts from the author's life and self-help tips. However, I thought the narrator's interpretation and dialogue of Frida was a little distracting.

Overall, I enjoyed listening to this audiobook and getting to know Frida more personally. Some parts of the story would have worked better without the repetitiveness of information, and a couple of the self-help tips could use a reevaluation. However, Frida's story is inspiring, and this novel is a nice reminder of how she may have handled life as we know it.

The premise of the book "What Would Frida Do?" is actually the biggest issue for me.

The book is very well researched and a great initial dive into many of her works of art, life and quotes ... as a result, there is no need to answer "what would she do?"

We see what she actually did through the retelling of her life.

I don't need Frida's complexity sifted down to "Be authentic!" or "Be yourself".

I did love the overview of her life and have added Casa Azul to my bucket list of places to visit. The author loves Frida and you feel it!

This was cute. A kind of primer to Frida for new fans rather than those willing to look for more authoritative sources on the artist. A lot of the self-help-style reflections here felt trite and overthought, but the book is sprinkled with enough legit info on Frida that I tolerated the speculative musings ("what would Frida do if..."). Sometimes the biographical information is repetitive, as if the book was written out of order (likely) and the author couldn't remember what had previously been cited.

Overall, a fine book, but I'm a little mad at myself for splurging on the hardcover version.

I really loved this book! It gave a great accurate deploy Frida’s life and the human she was. I loved how each chapter ended with how you could embody the viva la vida!

This was a very informative and very well written biography of the icon Frida Kahlo. You can hear the passion the author has for recounting Frida's life and it was amazing.

I went into this not knowing too much about Frida, other than the fact that she painted a lot of self-portraits and what she looked like. After reading this, I have learned so much about this wonderful woman and her life and struggles.
