This book took me a while to get into. I was probably 40% into the book before I really got into the story. I feel like these books are focusing on too many characters at once. I think I would’ve preferred if this one focused only on Rehv, Ehlena, Wrath, and Beth. Everyone else wasn’t fluff, but they did slow the main story down.
Also maybe I just missed this in the other books, but the princess is his SISTER?!? Vom. I get that sympaths are dying out, but I feel like this was a very unnecessary step in the extreme to make that point.
I love this world, but im losing interest in the books because they focus on too many people at once. I’ll continue, but I’m close to stopping.

I just love this series. (This is my second time reading this book.) Rev's character is great, but I love John. John makes me cry.

I didn't think I liked Rehvenge as a character before. But I do after reading this one.

So I think this one I kind of threw me off. As far as Elena living in the compound, sure, that sounds great, but Rehvenge is he's the king of the sympaths, but he has to go and rule them, but he doesn't live with the sympaths? That doesn't make a lot of sense. It's a little weird considering that unlike regular vampires, all the sympaths have gathered together. Otherwise, the story is pretty good. I like that he Rehv got some redemption by cleaning things up quite a bit, and that he feels like he's become redeemed for the way he was acting in book three (I hated him during that book).
Oh! Bonus! The sideplot with Wrath and Beth was great, and this installment seemed to have more sex than others, including a scene with Wrath and Beth, in addition to the main couple.

Z is my favorite bother. But this is my favorite book!!!!!!!!
I love everything about it.
Rhev is such a well rounded, complex, and awesome character.
Wrath changes and learns so much here. Same can be said about John.
Perfection.
