The story continues, this time from new and older points of view. We get to see through Rhev's eyes, as well as Xhex's, Elhena's and one of my favorites, John's, as well as Wrath's (which was kind of a surprise).
The Brotherhood keeps evolving and finding their way out of some problems and into others. Wrath is finally embracing his destiny, Rhev discovers his and John makes a decision that makes me want to jump into the next book right away!
A good series with lots of ups and downs and, yes, still lots of dramatic dialogue and expressions but the story's got too much potential and flow for that to be a problem.
Looking forward to reading the next book!

Definitely not my favorite BDB book. I didn’t feel like there was a lot of depth to Ehlena but loved getting to know rhevenge more. Their love story was not what kept me reading, Lash and his lessers drove this story for me, seeing him build up what was given to him and the progression of the war with the lessers.
Not my favorite of the series so far but I liked it better than book 6.
Rehvenge is one of my favourite characters in all this world. That's not the common theory and I just dont get it. He's a freaking SIn Eater with violet eyes, godsdamnit.
Almost from the moment he was introduced in the series, I have wanted to learn more about the half-sympath Rehvenge. He is Bella's (Zsadist's mate, from book 3) brother and now the leader of the glymera, the vampire aristocracy. The knowledge that he is half-sympath is a closely guarded secret, even from his own flesh and blood, but the price of silence is extremely high.
Rehvenge is a complicated and fascinating character, making Lover Avenged a wonderful addition to the series. Along with his story, J.R. Ward continues to combine drama with other characters and tension about the war with the Lessening Society into Lover Avenged, creating depth and a taut, suspenseful story. I noticed that the next book, Lover Mine, will be released in paperback this week, and I will definitely be picking it up to continue the series.

Adorei o casal principal!

I have read this series since the beginning and I have to say that with each book I am less and less interested in the "big picture" plot and I skip thru the book until I get to the protaganist portions. I love the series and the characters for the most part I just can't get into the sections that have nothing to do with the current story. It almost feels as if you need to take notes with every book and reread them before starting a new one...
Having now finished the book I have to say that the end was soo much better than the rest of the book good enough in fact that because I read it with an extended period of time between the end and the beginning and the middle I was able to appreciate the book. Having said that I can't in good conscience not leave what I had written before. The end was exactly what I enjoy about [a:J.R. Ward|20248|J.R. Ward|http://photo.goodreads.com/authors/1190562839p2/20248.jpg] and it certainly was exactly what I wanted in an ending...in my opinion the ending could have been stretched out a bit and some of the "middle" could have been cut to accomodate it. I still skipped thru the antagonist sections because I enjoy not really knowing what's going on in their heads. The suspense is actually there when you just know that they are demented without needing the reinforcement Ward tends to need to provide. At the end, I would suggest this book to fans of the series but not as a stepping stone into the Black Dagger Brotherhood.
