Short and sweet. Enjoyed much of this. Wish there was more depth overall. The stories told are both inspiring and informative. If you’re into traditional ecological and indigenous knowledge, this is a book for you.

At less than an hour, or shorter than most podcasts, there’s not a whole lot here to either dislike or overly recommend. It reads sometimes like a tone poem to the natural world and if that is your sort of thing then you’ll likely enjoy this quite a bit.

"The earth is not impervious to the presence of man. We humans have inflicted terrible wounds upon the earth. The scars are everywhere visible..."

"The planet is warming, and the northern ice is melting. Fires and floods wreak irresistible havoc. The forests are diminished and waste piles upon us. Thousands of species have been destroyed. Our own is at imminent risk. The earth and its inhabitants are in crisis, and at the center it is a moral crisis. Man stands to repudiate his humanity."

I listened to the audiobook. Can we please have Momaday narrate everything? His voice is pure bliss.
