I don't think this book necessarily needs a close read but the overall concepts by chapter were each very helpful. From knowing your movement can't have a purity test - you need everyone even if they differ on some view points, to giving yourself seasons - take time or else you will burn out. I also appreciate that every organizing or movement book I read about US movements has a chapter about Palestine - because Palestinian liberation is part of our collective liberation. Great read.
Absolutely cannot stand the narration.

This book has so much great information. Sometimes that information gets bogged down in lots of real-world examples that read more like a memoir. That caused me to lose steam as I read.

- “It is the grandest illusion ever created: in a world where corporations and governments worldwide are poised to annihilate most life on Earth, we are made to believe that other disempowered people are the greatest danger we face.”
- I didn’t realize how little I knew about mutual aid until I read this book
- Highly recommend this if you’re feeling hopeless rn
- Borrowed from the library but will be getting my own copy
