This is how you make a romance that is heart-warming and an actual healthy relationship. the couple actually fall in love with conversations happening, they dated each other. THEY TALKED ABOUT THEIR LIFES TO EACH OTHER.
trust me when I say this is becoming hard to find in romance books.

also, loved how she went through the struggles of self-esteem and how living online isn't that easy thing to do. Showing the struggle on both sides whether your thin or overweight. Beauty standards are shit to live by please don't let them control your life.
overall really enjoyed the story.

SET ON YOU is a smart, inspiring, realistic and and downright steamy contemporary romance debut by Amy Lea. (PUB 05.10.22)

Thank you to @netgalley and @berkelyromance for early access.

Its a good book, lets start there. Its for first timers into romance. It has very strong positive message. Didn't understand the last breakup though. It made female character look impulsive for a character with strong minded independent women. It felt out of place.

BRUUUUUUUHHHHH. Don't do it.
This. Book. Didn't. Know. What. It. Wanted. To. Be. About.
It both wasn't well enough thought out or narrowed down enough.
So many weird details about things that were not only unnecessary but often competed plot points/take aways from the story.
If I gotta hear about Scotty's abs one more time.
Her grandmama slick at the mouth and problematic as fuck.
I love Lizzo. But nobody listens to exclusively Lizzos music (playlist or otherwise). Her catalog simply ain't big enough yet. Act like you know more than one fat musical artist PLEASE.
Consistently random leaning into AAVE. Refusing to only refer to a butt as a booty and using the phrase "busted ass weave" while watching a real house wives show (NOT EVEN ONE OF THE BLACK CITIES SO NOBODY ON THE SCREEN EVEN SAID THAT).
Sprinkle in a magical negro from Atlanta.
But the two parts that reeeeeally made me wanna throw the whole thing away the book was supposedly about being happy even if you're fat but they avoided using the word fat when referring to anyone as if it was a cuss word. CAN WE PLEASE STOP USING THE WORD CURVY AND JUST REMOVE THE IMMEDIATE NEGATIVE CONNOTATION ASSOCIATED WITH THE WORD FAT?!
And the last thing...........
Crystal was afraid for Scotty to say what was so beautiful about her because she didn't want him to mention her light eyes because people always exotify her light eyes...................
EXOTIFYING HER LIGHT EYES?!
The above review is probably damn near unintelligible because this book just had me hot all the way through. ONLY read this if you wanna be angry. I'm not usually this rude in reviews but I honestly felt like the author was playin in my face with this one, I really do believe that.
Because, EXOTIFYING her LIGHT EYES?!

I read exes and o’s first. The story goes down better. This was one was dragging.. buts it’s still cute and I love the main character being slim thick but that also dragged a wee bit
fast-paced

The story was just as good as the second book, but too heavy on the influencer stuff.
