My least favorite in the series.

The brother's best friend trope wasn't working for me in this case. I get being protective over your sister but to call someone your best friend and not acknowlege the ways they've grown AND to try and control who your 19/20 year old sister dates when she's already under the control of your overbearing parents is too much for me.

I did think this had one of the best groveling set ups I've read in a while and really liked how Preston stood up to Sydney's parents.

Summary

Overall rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5

Spicy rating:

When I found out this book was going to be about Preston, I just about lost my mind. I was so freaking excited for his redemption arc, and it was absolutely everything I wanted it to be and more.

This man is so wholly apologetic for everything that happened in the past and genuinely wants happiness so badly that it makes me physically ache that he would ever think he doesn't deserve it. Yes, he was a cliché, idiot teenage boy, but he genuinely grew so much from what happened with Cassidy and his dad and understands how his selfishness hurt them. And the three of them in this book were actually super cute, albeit different, dynamic, but it works for them. The conversation with him and Cassidy and him standing up for his dad were some of my absolute favorite parts of the book and really showcased his character growth.

But onto him and Sydney. The sparks flew from page one, and I love a good "teach me" trope, so this book was a good time for me. The lessons, the silent falling, the realization that their relationship actually is a big deal. It was all insanely sweet and spicy. And the way that Preston believes in Sydney's dreams and supports them so wholeheartedly...the man literally bought her an embroidered knife carrier. He's the epitome of boy obsessed.

I have no complaints about this book aside from Colin (and their parents but I'm going to pretend they don't exist for the sake of this review because seriously, who acts that way regarding their TWENTY year old kid 🙄)

He was a petty asshole when he found out about them, and he really had the audacity to act like he had any say, but he came around quick, so we'll forgive him.

Other than that. This was a perfect addition to the Nashville Neighborhood, and I really hope that there's a Stella book in our future.

When you dad steals your girlfriend so you steal your best friends sister…

I am a slut for a forbidden brothers best friend romance BUT giving me Preston as the best friend was

Preston get the hots for his best friends little sister Sydney. But he did not always find her attractive. When the get reacquainted at a graduation party he almost didn’t recognize her. Sydney has always followed the rules, and it’s still not good enough. She’s tired of everyone making decisions for her. So she decides to hook up with Preston. He was a little reserved because she was a virgin. But he couldn’t get her out of his head. Of course they try to keep it secret from her brother, but that blows up when big bro catches them texting. This was the least spiciest of the books. But I’m glad Preston was able to move on from his ex Cassie.

The spice is spicing in this book. However, Sydney and Preston’s story was fun in the sense of exploring sexuality. The virgin trope is a little meh and while I like a good praise kink, I feel like Sydney’s story lost that empowerment she was looking for with Preston.

I liked seeing Colin again, wish I got more of Madison too. I enjoyed Sydney’s triumphs and her HEA. Preston’s character growth was nice to see as well.

It’s a good book if you are looking for something fun and sexy to read.
