I found this book the least interesting of the series so far. I wanted to like it but it disappoints - the pair's scenes aren't as sexy to read as the other books. the premise has some promise, but it doesn't deliver. I was skimming the last third.
the drama with the brother/Colin would have been more interesting if Sydney had told him from the early stages that it was up to her to decide if she wants to date/interact with Preston. this book's approach is cliched and tired.

Where's the romance?
This was simple an effort to placate the "praise-kink" obsessed readers, and it was not a good one.
My biggest issue has to do with the "character development" in the book. The author spends the entire time claiming the MMC has become a better person without demonstrating it (which I assume was the result of laziness since she spent the other books in the interconnected series describing his issues).
Additionally, I think the FMC's parents should have never been forgiven, so that turned me off of the book. Ultimately, the book just lacked substance. The smut was hot, but the plot was not.

I cant recall why I stopped the series, but I am very glad I came back.
It is nice to revisit the same characters with a different perspective. This time we have Preston (whose dad and ex got together) and Sydney (whose brother Colin started an OF type account with Madison). Naturally Preston and Colin are bff and Sydney is off limits. Enter sneaking around and lying.
Preston has grown and has been pretty respectful of Sydney, not pressuring. Her parents are overbearing , but she stands up for herself.
