Gave me the creepy crawly, icky feeling, but very well written. Great imagery and descriptions.

Delightfully disgusting! One of the best horror novels I’ve had the pleasure of reading.

This was an enjoyable novel. The authors created a scarily believable premise.
A bioengineered tape worm that is supposed to help with weight loss but turns extremely dangerous and eats the host from the inside out.
The scout troop gets trapped on the island after it’s quarantined, each falling into a darkness of their own. With no help or word from the outside world the boys must do their best with the things they have to survive the weekend. A well written body horror with a little mix of technothriller, this gross out fiction isn’t for those with a weak stomach.

This was a very… interesting read. If you like horror, gore, animal torture, and kids trying to survive a deadly virus… this is the book for you!

MAJOR SPOILERS:
Fuck Shelley. It pains me to know that no one knows what happened to Kent. Poor Newt. Eef?! How horrible what happened to him.. and Max has to live with all of this (or does he?)

This book was intense. It took me a couple weeks to read but it was well worth it. I loved the way the book was formatted with the court transcript and newspaper articles intermixed. In the acknowledgments, Cutter says he was inspired by King's similar use of multiple sources to tell a narrative in Carrie, a book I enjoyed greatly for that reason. I was constantly trying to guess how it would all unfurl at the end. It was gripping and gory and impossible to put down. I'm excited to pick up more from Nick Cutter in the future!

Grotesque.

This is one of the only books that physically impacted me. The scenes are so visceral. First third is great, middle third is gag inducing, final third made it all worth it!
