Really enjoyed this fantasy fiction for anyone wanting to follow a young witch who's only power is to find lost things.
When the most famous witch comes to find her to help find the lost Tuesday Willow is frightened but willing to help. Taking the Monster From Under The Bed and things she might need on a journey. She writes a note to her father, and off they go.
With the Brothers of Wol seeking our magical people, the witches must visit elves, find a oublier and seek a distant land. With dragons, trolls and more adventure than should rightly fit into one boo this the first of many books to come about Willow Moss and the land of Starfell. A great read.

In her dazzling debut, Dominque Valente tells the story of a young witch called Willow (who feels very inadequate as her only power is the ability to find lost items), as Starfell`s most famous witch Moreg Vaine arrives one day and unexpectedly asks her for help, because last Tuesday has gone missing and Willow must find it in order to save Starfell. First of all, the worldbuilding in this was amazing. Starfell has a really interesting history and magic system, and I absolutely loved learning about both, as well as seeing so many different subsections of the world and meeting the various different people/creatures who live them in them as Willow travels throughout the land. The dry-witted narration made me laugh a lot as I read, and another feature of the writing style I enjoyed was the sections we got every couple of chapters that hinted at who the antagonist was and what they were doing, which made the mystery aspect of what happened to the lost day even more intriguing and clued me in as to how far the villain would go long before Willow encountered them, which made that part a tense reading experience. I also absolutely adored each and every character (except the baddies, obviously)- Willow was a lovely heroine and I was so fond of her, her companion Oswin is a complete and utter DELIGHT (I can`t even express how much I love him) and the quirky, individual personalities of the supporting cast made all of them so fun to read about. The ending was so unexpected for me and it made me weep, and if her debut is this phenemonal then I couldn`t be more excited to see what Dominique writes next. If you`re a fan of Nevermoor, this is definitely one to keep an eye out for! 5/5
This book ... wow.
Willow Moss is a young witch who is always worrying about the fact that her powers (finding lost things) are much tamer than her sisters, and not very useful. That is until Moreg Vaine, the most powerful witch in Starfell asks for her help in locating a lost day.
This book is a little slow to get going but once it does, I was completely hooked. I thought this book had a really good strong set of morals and was beautifully written. I even had a little sob towards the end - In fact I would give the ending alone 5 stars!

I loved this book so much! It was a whimsical quest story with an engaging main character and a rag tag team of side characters set in a vivid and quirky magical world. This story is about a young witch named Willow Moss. In this world some people are born with magical abilities; others aren't and the ability that you receive varies from person to person. Willow's older sisters have the gifts of being able to blow things up and move things with their minds, whilst her mother tells people's fortunes. Compared to this, Willow feels that her ability to find lost things is small and insignificant. However, everything changes when the most powerful witch in Starfell asks for Willow's help to find an entire day that has been lost.
There is so much to enjoy in this book. The magical world is brilliantly dreamed up and, like me, I imagine many readers will wish they could step inside the pages and experience the wonder of this setting in person. Willow herself is a modest and kind person, which makes the reader very empathetic towards her. However, Willow is no push over, she is determined and stands up for what she knows is right when it is important - I love her so much and really want her to succeed! I also love the secondary characters who bring comic relief to the story. They also have their own issues to face and joining the quest along with Willow allows each character to grow and overcome their own challenge. The plot of the story is well-planned out and I loved how everything came together at the end.
The world of Starfell and the character of Willow Moss are brilliant creations and I am looking forward to reading more books sent in this world.

A gorgeously written middle grade debut.
Willow Moss and the Lost Day is a fun, exciting and beautiful little adventure story sure to gain fans far and wide. Willow is a particularly gorgeous character out to prove she is important and deserves some attention after being told her magical talent of finding Lost things isn’t all that special.
The band of characters that Willow collects on her journey to find last Tuesday, after it is mysteriously stolen, are just as gorgeous and engaging as herself. I had a particular fondness for Oswin, a kobald monster who has a bit of a temper but is very good in a stitch.
The ending was definitely one I did not see coming, and was a huge tug on my heart.
I am looking forward to seeing what is next for Dominique Valente, as this is an absolutely marvellous book.

Fantastic world building. Great characters. Not quite enough plot to push it up to 5 stars

Good magical story about the value of the individual for primary school readers. Loved the illustrations and the typefaces used for emphasis, made it a beautiful looking book to read.

This has been such an incredible read, I absolutely loved it! Magic, dragons, trolls & monsters what more could you ask for?
Not only is the story magical but the illustrations are so beautiful, really bringing to life the characters in your imagination. The world as a whole and all of the characters were so well thought out that I was oohing & ahing at every piece of the puzzle as it fit together.
I 100% recommend this book to all parents looking to add a little magic to their kids story time. With a strong female heroine and a rag tag bunch of friends to back her up, this book ticks all the boxes.
