I’m liking suze more with each book. It’s a little dated at certain times but it still has those laugh out loud funny moments for me. I didn’t like Gina much but it wasn’t so bad.

**Reread May 2016.**

I read this series a long time ago - probably around 2007 or so when I was first really getting into reading YA. With the release of the new book in this series, I decided that I wanted to go back and re-read them before I read the new book. Re-reading this series has not been a disappointment! I can really remember why I loved reading Meg Cabot back in the day - the writing is so unique... you really feel like you get into the main character's head.

I'm really glad I chose to re-read this series. I'm looking forward to the next one!

I really like the way Suze always stands up for those being bullied and when other characters treat people poorly not being afraid to speak up for what’s right but not in a preachy way which is a habit y/a tends to have. This book is still funny even though it’s going on 20 years old, the humor holds up.

ok ngl i'm kinda upset that we didn't get more into the plot of jesse's mysterious death but once again i am hoping that we do in the next book. please. i am begging.

I definitely liked this one better than Ninth Key. I forgot how it ended, too! Ready for the next one!

honestly jESSE IS PERFECT I CANNOT HANDLE

I'm really enjoying this hilarious series! I definitely liked the revealing of Suze's weaknesses in this one.

I am trying to decipher why I was so obsessed with this series in jr high and I have yet to find it. Perhaps it's because Suze is an edgy-leaning feminine person who is down for a good brawl rather than afraid of breaking a nail? Because she's Not Like Other Girls but still kiiinda respects them? These do read like they'd be rather dated (socially and otherwise) by the time I first read them so I'm surprised that skipped my notice the first time through but. eh. I was 13.

The stories aren't High Art™ or Revolutionary™ or anything, but they are a breeze to read and kinda fun. I weirdly enjoy the characters – adults, ghosts, and teens alike – face logical consequences for their actions (i.e. arrests, hospitals, etc) which tend to be overlooked in young-leaning YA. Also live for paranormal teen romances still for some reason lmao.
