I feel like this is Stephanie Plum on drugs. It's pretty out there - even for the Stephanie Plum books. Still fun though - and their length makes them very low commitment. I would still recomend people read the series before digging into the between the numbers books. This is not a good place to start your Plum loving. ;)

Stephanie Plum with a Supernatural twist! Fun characters, but the story seemed unfinished and rushed. I wonder what would have happened if Ranger and Diesel met... Stephanie would spontaneously combust! Well, maybe Lula!

Review on my blog. Link in my bio.

Such a cute lil novella. I don’t understand all the bad reviews on this one. It was a very quick read with five chapters and 100 pages and that’s exactly what a novella should be like imooo

Short and festively sweet :-)

I was a little thrown off by the supernatural element in this holiday novella, since it's so far off of the normal equation for Stephanie Plum. But, I ended up enjoying this quick read.

I loved that it gave us a little insight into where Stephanie and Morelli were post Hard Eight. I also loved that just kind of rolled with the punches when Diesel shows up. I do wish we had gotten some Ranger action, but you can only fit so much in a novella.

Overall, a fun quick read.

Not a fan of the supernatural/fantasy going on in this book.

A cosy and safe Christmas story with Stephanie and her family. It was an ok read, made me happy but nothing that will stick for long. But in a time of pandemic you cannot go wrong with things that make you smile.

Nice to see Diesel's introduction

Stephanie Plum is hunting down Sandy Claws, a Failed-to-Appear, who definitely resembles Santa, since he is hiring elves to make toys for Christmas. Stephanie has some help with hunting down Sandy Claws and unfortunately it's not Ranger or Morelli. No a supernatural being named "Diesel" has popped into her kitchen and is offering to help locate Sandy and get into the Christmas spirit. With a few days until Christmas, there is plenty of time to get into trouble, blow up a car or two and get into a tussle with elves, which is exactly what Stephanie does.

I do love the Stephanie Plum books. I read them years ago and I'm now re-reading them as audiobooks. Visions of Sugar Plums seemed like the perfect listen while I was doing all my holiday baking, and it was. It was certainly fun and over-the-top and what we expect from Janet Evanovich. I like that even though this is just a novella we saw all my favorites, well except for Ranger, and there were some hilarious moments with Grandma Mazur.

I've listened to quite a few of these books with the narration by Lorelai King and I like her voice. She's certainly become the voice of Stephanie, Lula and Grandma Mazur for me. Her voice for Diesel seemed a little slow to catch my interest, but by the end I enjoyed it as much as the others. I definitely plan to listen to the rest of the books in audio version.
