The in between the numbers novels are the same slapstick nonsense that is a Stephanie Plum novel but with a slightly supernatural flare. Could there really be superhero like beings in Jersey? I'm not sure that she really needs another man in her life but Diesel is a fun character to visit on occasion. Sadly this was my last visit with Diesel in Stephanie's world... Yeah I read them out of order.

After reading the first few pages in the book, at the onset I was pretty sure I was going to enjoy this book. After reading the first chapter, I knew I'd hate it!
Not only did the story seem excessivly rushed, with countless scenes being skimmed over with no detail whatsoever, but the charaters alone were basic and uninteresting. The plot alone was horrible, with a somehow supernatural dude popping into the main character, Stephenie's, life without an explanation whatsoever. The supernatural aspects of the book were not explained at all, to any degree, and the entire status of the relationship between Steph and Desiel (the male lead in the novel) was ignored throughout the book, even to the end. The ending of the novel was entirely rushed, probably more so than the entire book as a whole.
The only brightspot to the book was the occasionally comical sarcastic thoughts and dialogue expressed by the main character. Even this bright spot was few-and-far between, so I can say quiet easily I did NOT enjoy this book, at all

this was an odd little Christmas tale... still not sure if I enjoyed it or not with the added "Sandy Klaws" and characters with super powers...

The first of the "Between-the-Numbers" novels. This book fits between books 8 & 9 of the regular series. It's only five days before Christmas and Stephanie hasn't even started her shopping. She's busy trying to find Sandy Claws, I know it's really corny. While honestly not my favorite Stephanie adventure, it is worth the read for the "attack of the killer elves" scene. Think of this as It's a Wonderful Life Stephanie Plum style.
Absolutely loved this one! Couldn't put it down and devoured it in a very short time.
Stephanie Plum is having trouble getting into the Christmas spirit. She is tracking Sandy Claws and a guy named Diesel shows up in her kitchen to help her. He is tracking a guy named Ring, a nemesis of Sandy Claws. Stephanie burns up another car (as seems to happen in most of the novels). A lot of humor, I was laughing out loud several times. Definitely worth a read.

How did this unfinished book make it to press? I enjoyed the story and the characters but the plot is resolved in one short moment. Three stars feels generous due to the abrupt ending, otherwise I would have given the full five stars for this imaginative and funny book.
This book was okay and fed a little bit of my thirst for more Stephanie Plum. However, Grandma Mazur didn't pull as many hilarious stunts and it was missing more of Ranger and Morelli. Diesel just can't compare.... Still, mildly entertaining for the time of year.
