Second in the series sees more of the same as we learn more about the vampire world of this creation. Some humorous touches, and nice references to other material, overall a fair read.

A perfect continuation to the first book. Brewer builds on Vlad's story from the first book, making sure he didn't forget the things he learned but adding new levels beyond what he learned as he learns more about his powers as a vampire from an OLD family friend. Vlad makes friends and loses them but not without having some fun and almost losing his life in the process.

I was really jazzed to find this one at a dollar store seeing as how I enjoyed the first one. I love the art style and the Vladimir Tod books are very fun and light hearted, kind of like Buffy which is why I really appreciated the references thrown in there. The beginning of this one did feel a bit slower and it had been a while since I read the first one so the first half was kind of confusing but then everything started moving fast like bang bang bang! And the whole Vlads friend being a hunter thing was so intense. I really want to pick up the actual books to get a more in depth look on the story.

When I read this book, I actually would find myself feeling bad for the main character, Vladimir Tod. He's confused about if he should follow his vampire instincts or stay true to the human values that he has lived with his entire life. The author did a fantastic job of making the reader feel and understand what Vladimir Tod is going through.

I remember being obsessed with this series, don't know why I didn't put them on.

These are kind of fun, and I like the idea well enough to keep reading. However, I'm with Vlad: if you think he's going to be this terrifying mind-controlling, human-subjugating monster, why teach him mind control at all?

My rating is based on my initial reading of TCoVT which started back in 2008. He's pretty much my Harry Potter. I went through high school reading his stories and he was a friend to me through some tough times so even if i can't relate to a few of his issues anymore (because I'm out of middle and high school by years now) I will always love and treasure this series.

Better then the last. looking forward to see where it goes.

This is really the first vampire series that I've read and I really like it.
