This book had it all! Interesting and realistic main characters. Diversity. Destined lovers. I was a fan from the very first page!
Went in expecting a romance, had no clue this was magical realism. Guess I didn’t read the book summary that well lol. So imagine my shockwhen I got to chapter three, and the book jumped back in time to 1923! Such a great twist I didn’t know I needed! Some of the references felt a bit forced at times, but overall, this was clearly Tia’s love letter to Harlem and to black history. She killed it!!
I love a booktold from different perspectives. It really felt like each chapter held its own pleasant surprises. Her writing choices were intentional and really aided in driving the story home. This book is a master class on narration and all writers should be taking notes!!!
Was crying by the end, tissues and all. When Della died and that last chapter was from her perspective, WHEW, I was a goner! Ezra over Edward Cullen any day! Ugh I just can’t say enough good things about this book! I will be reading more by this author!!!!!

Loved this. Insta love trope makes sense with magical realism only
3.5 - This was different..
idk what I was expecting but it wasn’t this. I enjoyed the magical realism part. The romance was okay and I saw the ending coming, apart from that the book was overall good.

I absolutely loved A Love Song for Ricki Wilde! When people say they want to read a book without the struggle of love, this is exactly what they mean. It’s filled with passion, love, and joy. The way everyone, despite their differences, comes together for Ricki when she needs them is truly amazing. I wholeheartedly love this book!”
