Honestly it could’ve been better without the romance with mmc part but the banter, the relationship with friends and the found family aspect was great. A bit slow at times but i had fun

I got this as a gift, and though it's not exactly my norm, I loved it.

I loved the history, the vocabulary. I loved that this was as much of a love story for the couple as it was a love story just to the fmc.

This was refreshing for me. The epilogue was *chefs kiss*. Though there are dark and depressing moments due to history and current events - it just left me with such a smile and feeling of hope.

I thought this was really cute and the instalove just hits right when there’s a little bit of magical realism involved. It might have been a 4 but the ending didn’t really feel fully fleshed out.

Well written but I wish the entire novel had been the historical piece. It was fascinating. I don’t really love the destined lovers trope, so that plot line felt very forced to me.
