This is definitely my least favorite of the bunch so far, but if The Expanse is anything it's consistent, so still a good book™.

It was nice to see Havelock again but I found his arc a hit lacklustre -

not enough time was put into the idea that he maybe didn't agree with everyone so when he finally did disagree with extreme prejudice I was a little thrown by his sudden attitude change.

I think the key issue with this book was Murtry, unfortunately. This is a series where I always feel the characters do things that make sense - at least for them - and Cibola Burn breaks that pattern with Havelock a little, but 100% with Murtry. He was seemingly committed so doing the most evil villain like things at any point which was not so believable for me.

Still, was very pleased with the Holden and Amos content, Amos is definitely my favorite and I enjoyed Holdens perspective on him. This book was very heavy on the Roci crewdependency which I'm always up for.

Okay this one focused on colonization of a new galaxy and gave viewpoints of a small local colony trying to establish home and safety versus large established governments trying to expand/create stability. Longer and slower than the others but still a solid book. Gotta be honest - didn’t like Dr Okoye or Fayez. No redemption Murtry was also tough. Getting more hints about the larger alien civilization which is fun
