The first 1/3 of the book could’ve been totally erased from the story. The last 6 chapters however, so great.

I enjoyed the movie, book and historical references that were made. Started off a bit slow, but got better near the end. Had moments of suspension that made me afraid to turn away from the page. I thought the idea of tradition vs technology could be developed a bit more. Overall, an entertaining easy read.
5/5
What a rollercoaster. First of all, the narrator was amazing.
I liked how the book took place in the United Kingdom and that there was some discussion about different places through the UK, such as Loch Ness, London, Manchester, etc.
There were so many twists that I didn't see coming and that made it really enjoyable for me.
Greer, Chanel, and Shafeen are such intelligent and brave characters and their contrast with Henry and the medievals was so good.
The leader of the medievals, Henry, was an interesting character and arguably the most cruel one there considering how two-faced he was (much more so than the other characters).
I enjoyed the final twist and I do plan to read the second book when it comes out.

4 solid stars for such a fun novel, I don’t think I’ve had this much fun reading a thriller ever. The book does a great job of contrasting lightheartedness with the intensity of the story which makes it all the more enjoyable. While I thought Greer was a basic “quirky” girl with no inherently large flaws she was still quite charismatic and carried the story on her back. For a BOOK it has a lot of movie references and as someone who enjoys classic films and has seen many I was able to enjoy most of them, that being said if I wasn’t as knowledgeable on the subject I’d be annoyed by the seemingly out of context references.

I think this book was a good book but only good it’s not a book I would read again to be honest I felt that the person who voiced the audio book was too old to be the voice, I also feel the plot was a slow / medium paced but it was hyped to be a fast pace.
