I just finished this book and wow, honestly just wow, the beginning was a little slow but as soon as the weekend started I was just so hooked I couldn't put it down until I discovered what happened, I was so involved with the story and so connected with the characters. I liked the writing, the book was pretty fast paced and I really liked that, the fact that in the end the plot twists were just coming and slapping me in the face every damm time, just when I thought I was finished than BAMM! another plot twist that just kept me at the edge of my seat throughout the whole time, and by the way I when I first bought this book I thought it was a standalone thriller but I found out there was a sequel and honestly I can't wait to read the next books, mostly because there's a 4 book coming out this year and I'm so exited, but overall, loved it can't complain and can't wait for the new book to come out!

Sarcastic and youthful narrative leaves me actually liking a 16 year old character for a change.
Bennett does a really great job of creating a cliquey atmosphere and segregation of the newbies from the populars. Yano…the usual high school rivalry. This time there is murder, attempted murder, betrayal and lots of posh people saying “yaah” (or at least they do in my head)
My main gripes are minor because this is just a fun easy read for me. The main one is calling Greer a feminist and then having her say all sorts of things against females etc. Just no! Secondly, might just be me but it wasn’t thriller enough - needed more twisty turns etc

Personally, I really enjoyed all of the plot twists. Especially near the end. Although, the relationship between Greer and Shafeen seemed kind of forced for me, don't get me wrong, both of them are good characters, but it didn't seem like Shafeen was interested in Greer in the beginning.
Although I still enjoyed the book and can't wait to read the second book.

It’s 3 stars due to main character being annoying and plot being really slow on the beginning. I expected more but it was still pretty ok. The thing I enjoyed the most was how cozy and yet dark the aesthetics were.

I read it in one day, so it was definitely a page-turner for me. Although the ending kind of fell through for me, the rest of the book was thrilling and engaging.
It was a great book to read to keep me on the edge and want to read more, but honestly I will probably never read this book again. In retrospect, I was expecting this to be kind of a like a Battle Royale book, where she had to fight her way out of the estate. I guess I kind of wanted more bloodshed and have the ending be more triumphant and action-y. I didn't really like the whole ***spoiler**** cult aspect, just not my cup of tea.
And if you are gonna add romance into this, honestly I wish there was just more of it or none at all. Or maybe this one in particular was just no believable, because there was so little build-up.
Still I hear there is a movie coming out for his book, and I think this book has great potential for a movie. I am actually very excited to see this made into a movie, should be a good watch.
