Interesting concept. A story that doesn't jump back and forth between different times. It progresses forward backwards. Some slower sections but also so many twists and turns! Another book that's like the 6th sense where you get to the end and all of the sudden want to watch/read it all again to see all the little things you missed the first time around! Ryan is Kelly?! And her son's girlfriend is the stolen baby?! 🤯 And the epilogue... Was like the extra scene at the end of the movie credits. The slower sections kept this from a 5 for me. Maybe if I read it again, I'll see if it should stay here or be upgraded...

honestly this was one of the better random popcorn books i have picked up this year . it was very slow to get started with but afterwards it was a steady and enjoyable journey to the end . the beginning was very clearly gearing the story to the demographic of middle aged mom people and it was painful to get through (sorry i do not want to hear about your husbands hot naked butt . i genuinely do not care) but after about 50 pages the interesting shit started to pick up and from there the characters and solid plot won me over, and the annoying hubby wifey shit that the author used as setup turned into a key plot point, so the early annoyance is forgiven lol . my favorite parts were the ryan chapters and i wish we got to see more of that, but i am satisfied with how the end tied it all together
at the end i was very attached to jen and todd, their duo worked well together andin the end the motive with todd did add up, with the characterization we had of him, even though it also ended up irrelevant and surprisingly i didnt mind the romance aspects in the last 100 pages . usually completely straight middle aged romance written for a straight middle aged audience bores me to tears, but i think the nostalgia echoed how it felt to get to know my long term girlfriend so it wasnt terrible to read . part of me wishes ryans story ended differently ? however everything tied together very nicely and i cant complain in the sense that i was fully expecting a sad ending and was pleasantly proved wrong
this would be a five star read if not for the beginning, in all honestly . j understand that it was there to draw in the usual reader crowd for this type of book and set up context for the rest of the story, but for my own personal enjoyment i gotta take a few points away cuz it was annoying and the great buildup and pay off unfortunately didnt 100% make up for the beginning lol . i got hung up on the beginning for months due to that type (not that the beginning was bad, it just didnt work for me personally)

I had no idea what I was going into when I snagged this one from the library. I’ve seen a few reviews and I’m sure at some point I read the blurb, but by now we’ve stopped pretending that I’ll remember anything from one day to the next, right?
This is one of the best thrillers I’ve read in a long time. The story opened with Jen’s teenaged son murdering someone in cold blood on Halloween night. She goes to sleep that night after a harrowing evening in the police station and wakes up the next morning… only it’s yesterday, before the murder. The book unfolds backwards, with Jen waking up each day at some point in the past.
She hits various milestones along the way and learns that those closest to her are keeping dark secrets. She cannot control when she wakes up and finds herself feeling out of her mind, trying to figure out exactly why she is waking up in a particular time. As she searches desperately to find some meaning to her time travel, she encounters dangerous people and circumstances that she fears will forever change things - for the worse.
Time travel stories are especially mind-twisty for me - it’s hard for me to wrap my mind around them, and I always have more questions than answers by the time it’s over. I enjoyed this one very much, but I’m always left the nagging question of *how*?
Regardless, this was a plot-twisty joy ride for me.

This was a solid thriller! I wasn’t totally sure how I felt about it half to thee-quarters of the way through, but the ending tied up all the loose strings really nicely. I also thought the last bit about hysterical strength was great, it resolves that last remaining question of how Jen got into the time loop in the first place. I wouldn’t say this had me on the edge of my seat, but the story was good and while I figured out one of the big reveals before it happened, most of them I didn’t see coming.
