Such an incredible book that I think everyone, regardless of their religious background, would benefit from reading.

I loved how inclusive, neutral, and poetic Helwa's writing is. Although the book is about Islam's teachings, Helwa frequently drew on connections from other religions, like Christianity, Taoism, and Judaism. She also wrote about Islam neutrally, not focusing on one sect's ideas more than the other, which I thought was admirable. Lastly, she also frequently references Rumi's poetry, which I loved since I love Rumi's work.

The Secrets of Divine Love honestly felt like a hug. An overall great read that I'd recommend to everyone.

The research and effort that was undertaken to put this book together really shows; quotes are seamlessly woven into the author's own artful prose. The way this book is written is just so approachable, and it is a refreshing look at Islam for those of us who grew up simply "following the rules".

Each chapter is purposefully crafted with the culmination of every chapter presenting a beautiful dua and exercises we can easily incorporate into our daily lives.

This is a book I intend to come back to periodically insha'Allah.

Because the author has a shia background and her offerings are mixed between Hadith and Shia teachings

im not into philosophy but since it has Islamic philosophy i was willing to read it and mannnn. the analogies and the way she depicted it all w metaphors and imageries and comparisons, how she creatively used very basic elements to delve deep into Islamic theology and philosophy, and then at other times using evidence from the Quran and Ahadith, as well as from other Islamic leaders and philosohers, truly heart touching. whats more is that she integrated other religions and their philosophies which was smth refreshing to see. and the tips at the end of every chapter were rlly helpful and eye opening for mindfullness. and ofcourse this book was written by a woman so cheers for that đź©·
