This book was another perfect delicious addition to the BTU world!!

Everything starts with a sexy selfie and a misunderstanding. From there Gemma and Chance become enemies but not even that can cool off the attraction they have from one another.

Their interactions are hilarious at times and I love how Gemma aka "protein princess" never backs down, she challenges Chance every time and makes him suffer for the way he has treated her from the very beginning without even knowing her and making assumptions out of the blue.

Chance has been burn in the past and because of this, his insecurities are big. He knows he has mess up big time with Gemma, assuming things about her that aren't true. When he needs help with his two Great Danes, there is no other person but Gemma that can help. He tries to resit her but when lines are crossed he knows he is screwed. Gemma Steele is the woman he wants.

Chance and Gemma's relationship is full of sensual tension, banter, funny interactions and sparks that never stop flying. I really love how their relationship progresses and how they were able to bring their walls down.

This book can be read as standalone but I definitely recommend reading the whole series and meeting The Covenettes and their crazy and hilarious chats but also the rest of the BTU gang.

Alley has done it again.

This book was absolutely amazing. I always liked the relationship between Gemma and Chase throughout all of the other BTU Alumni books I read and this book only made me love both of them even more than I already did.

There were so many moments throughout the book that I was shaking my head at Chase. He did stupid things but despite that, I absolutely loved him as a character. I enjoyed seeing how the thing that happened in his past caused him to think the worst when he met Gemma and seeing how those feelings and thoughts slowly began to disappear.

I loved seeing the two of them fall in love and seeing them both grow as characters. They were such a cute couple, there was so much angst between them and just.. the dogs! I loved everything with the dogs.

Such an amazing book and an exceptional read. I cannot wait for more books.

This book was good. There are definitely some cringy phrases in it in my opinion and they really don’t communicate until after their fights so it was like cute but also just okay. not my favorite of the series

Oh how I have missed the BTU Alumni crew! We dive back in and have Gemma and Chance that take us on a whirlwind adventure that will have you laughing out loud, yelling at the characters, and feeling heated from the intense chemistry these two throw out. Gemma and Chance met and immediately drew conclusions about each other. Chance has been the new guy to the crew and team, which helps him adjust, but hard to ignore the past. Gemma has been determined to reach her goals and always happy doing what she loves, except run ins with Chance. The more these two get thrown together the harder the chemistry is to ignore. As these two discover a possible truce, they start to learn more about each other and what led to such a hostile first meet. Of course add in the shenanigans of the Coven, Chance’s two adorable dogs, and the boys… you will be devouring this book to see what will become of Gemma and Chance! I love me a good enemies to lovers!

Alley Ciz strikes again!

The banter, the groveling, the EVERYTHING!

I cannot wait for Caged Love!!

Cute but not super spicy

This had all the classic trademark sass as Gemma and Chance fought falling for each other every step of the way. Chance had so much relationship baggage that he brought into every interaction, I wanted to strangle him SO many times. Gemma had her own issues but that didn’t change her heart. She was such a sunshine soul. Everyone in her orbit loves her except Chance, who has misconceptions about her leading them to get off on the wrong foot. Now they’re fire and ice, and when they meet they’re combustible. I love ALL the side characters (you can’t help but love the Coven!). You couldn’t ask for a better cast to read about, and I honestly can’t wait for what’s coming next!

This book was okay! However, there were way too many characters to keep track of for a stand alone romance. Between all the different named characters and then the text thread where they all had nicknames like “mother of dragons” it was just too difficult to keep track of everyone and their relationships. I ended up skimming most of the text threads and paragraphs about the other characters outside of the couple.
I really liked Gemma and thought she was so kind and brave. But as a hero, Chance was not it. This wasn’t so much an enemies-to-lovers as guy-being-an-asshole-for-no-reason-to-girl-he-wants-to-fuck book. He just kept making assumptions about Gemma and then speaking really hatefully to her and she never deserved it. A couple times she mentioned how their relationship was toxic and I wanted to scream “yes it is!!!” At her, especially when one of her friends told her that was just how love worked.
He didn’t grovel nearly enough for the way he kept treating her so badly. I wanted way more apologizing before she accepted him back instead of a couple of notes and googly eyes on mirrors. He didn’t really put any meaningful effort into showing he understood her perspective and was going to change.
The writing was funny at times and I appreciated Gemma’s sassy comebacks but overall I feel like she deserved a better romance.

I have read Alley’s UofJ series and loved it. I never had the chance to jump into her BTU universe until now. Loved the banter. Loved the characters. Loved the found family aspect of this book. Chance and Gemma were 100% push and pull. It drove me crazy at times but I knew the payoff was going to be great. And it absolutely was. Chance was over the top grumpy and a total alpha hole. I wanted to get his story. There had to be a reason why he had to leave his team. Gemma was a strong heroine who kept him on his toes and pushed him to the edge. Their story is a slow burn that has you wanting more and for this reader, binge reading this entire series from the beginning.
