Some great insight into the series! I especially thought it was cool that the author had his son - who the series was originally inspired by - write his own submission for the story. I think that one was my favorite as it gave more insight into the world.

I listened to the audiobook of this. There are four stories in here, plus a couple random interviews and things like that.
The first story follows an incident that Luke and Thalia experienced, back before all the adventures that are written about in the books, and includes their initial meeting with Annabeth. It was fun, and gave an interesting look at Luke and how he thought about things. I wish I'd read it a little closer to when the story actually featured him.
The second story follows Percy and Annabeth when Hermes asks them to retrieve his stolen caduceus. It was a fun adventure, with some cute bits for the pairing, but didn't stand out terribly for me. I like Percy a lot, so I enjoyed seeing him. I really hated the way that the narrator did Annabeth's voice, though, so I think that took away a bit. She perpetually sounded like she was whining, which is not how I view Annabeth at all.
The third story feature Leo, Piper, and Jason as they prevent the Argo II from blowing up. I love Leo, so I enjoyed this one the most. I had a great time with the narration of the confrontation with the Maenads, and it was fun to see the three demigods working together with such disparate talents.
The final story was written by Riordan's 16 year old son. Based on that, I was pretty nervous about it, but it was actually a pleasant surprise. It told the story of Alabaster, one of the demigods who sided with Kronos. It was an interesting adventure that gave a very different view on the gods themselves, highlighting their moral ambiguity a bit more than the other books do.
Over all, an enjoyable addition to the series.

This is the second collection of short stories Riordan released in his Greco-Roman young adult series. I actually preferred this collection to the first, The Demigod Files, but I think that comes from the length of the stories and the inclusion of the final story in this selection by Riordan’s son, Haley. In addition this was the 18th library book I’ve read this year, which is pretty impressive for me and I’m excited to be supporting the library more and more these days.
The four short stories in this collection are The Diary of Luke Castellan, Percy Jackson and the Staff of Hermes, Leo Valdez and the Quest for Buford and Son of Magic. Each one of these stories stands out and included different characters which I think is why I enjoyed this collection better than the first, but as mentioned above Son of Magic is what made this collection.
