i hated this book. i hated the characters. the only sane person was kavya and sean acted like she was crazy. i hated that there was so much sex. THEY’RE TEENAGERS and its writen by a grown ass man. it’s disgusting. sean was so annoyung and pathetic and so selfish. his problems were not really problems, he was just making them in their head. even if it was the point it was very tiresome to read and i didn’t enjoy it one bit. i saw a mer person on the cover and thought it’d be amazing. i was very disappointed. in glad that at the end they realized they should live for themselves or whatever. i would probably stay and be a mermaid but that’s just my opinion.

I’m glad this book exists. There will be teens that adore this book and I’m so happy for them. There’s diversity and life lessons galore.
However, as an adult, some of the scenes about 16 year olds were awkward to read.
This was an okay book for me, but it will be an amazing book for someone else.

I received an ARC of this book from a Goodreads giveaway.

“I think there is a world where Crest and I could have been that”
Sobbing my eyes out istg

So this book was actually so much better than I expected, even if a bit cringey at times I enjoyed it so much, it made me laugh and cry and honestly I could have not predicted that ending I will need to take a week to recover…
Anyway a really sweet and realistic love story with a fantastic non-binary mc!! I really enjoyed reading this silly book, I think it will probably make me want to read more fiction

I enjoyed this fantasy LGBTQ+ story. Romance without it being just romance but still a big part of the story. I'd recommend it to any teen (or adult, for that matter!)
