A wonderful sophomore novel from Jason June.

This was the perfect amount of Little Mermaid meets Aquamarine in a novel. Jason June gave us a great couple of leads. Sean and "Ross" appear to be not so bad characters on the surface but as we get to know them we get to a point where you realize these characters are absolutely real. I loved that Sean wasn't super fit but still swam and was effortlessly smooth in the water. It made you pull for Sean because you can relate to him. Ross was hilarious in his lack of knowledge of earth, but his gender fluidity was beautiful and absolutely wonderful. I love that Sean respected that about Ross.

This was a great LGBTQ+ novel that has every ounce of understanding, figuring out who you are and what you want from life. This journey Sean and Ross go on was beautiful. However I have issues with the end.
The end of the novel ends with a slightly happily ever after. They still love each other and they could have both spent forever in each others worlds but they both realize that they can't leave what they've known their entire life and as such have to make the best choice for themselves even if it breaks both of their hearts.

I can't wait to see what else Jason June brings us in the future.
