Sensible approach to our current state of climate apathy, and how a specific political party stands in the way of progress. The conversation is not focused so much on laying blame, as it is about how we need to recognize the current and future obstacles and develop tactics to reduce the damage being done to our habitat.

One of the things I would change in this book is right on the cover. This should not be a conversation about "saving the planet". Earth was fine before us, and will be fine way after we are gone. The thing we should be concerned about is saving humanity from an increasingly hostile weather. We need to focus on saving humanity, not the planet.

I listened to the audiobook. Recommended by my GND organization, this book is more about economic solutions to our climate issues, in a Q&A format with Noam Chomsky and Robert Pollin. It has clear economic plan laid out backed by science. Whereas "On Fire" was a more heart felt story on GND, this book sticks to facts, and budgets out what needs to change on a global scale in a capitalistic driven world.

This was more of an introduction for those of us unfamiliar with the issues and the debate. I like Chomsky, his views, his politics—and here we see some of his politics. It was short, though, and I wanted more. More depth. More content. It brushed over the issues without diving too deep, and while some solutions were present (and we allow for some reasonable griping, too) I feel so much more could be said, especially from Chomsky. Not a bad intro, mind you. If you need an intro.

More academic and dry than I expected but informative nonetheless.
