challenging dark emotional mysterious tense medium-paced

This book was a quick and easy read, though it maintained a slow pace overall. While the plot unfolded steadily, there were a few surprises sprinkled throughout that added some intrigue. However, it may not appeal to readers looking for a fast-paced or action-packed story.

An excellent twisty psychological thriller !

I guess I don't like Tarryn Fisher. I worried when I got this book and it took me 11 days to finish it! I kept putting it down and then picking it up, feeling like it was a chore I had to complete to read it.

That's ok. I read The Wives, and really didn't like it, and read The Wrong Family and really didn't like it. Time to cut my losses. Also, like another reviewer said, mental illness as a plot device again? I'm not down.

A few interesting plot twists, but overall I was kind of just waiting for the book to finally end.
