There are some interesting references and discussions around evolution and our body’s capabilities (also comparing to other life forms and how they have adapted or use the “pleasure” reward system to increase the chances of survival or whatever purpose that improves their quality of life).

However, the majority of the time it felt like a long ramble about subjects that are only loosely related to the subject matter, probably so that it can be said they’re referencing science and studies.

For the most part, I felt this book’s primary purpose is to promote the True North clinic/authority of doctors supervising fasts. That’s pretty typical for books produced by someone who’s trying to sell a product or service, it’s just usually less obvious.

Another great science based read that challenges the beliefs of even the most health conscious of people. I read this on audible and devoured it in a few days.

This book was a trap. I can't believe I was taken in by this crape, but the poor selection of peer reviewed references did give me pause.

a lot of great, helpful information. It just took a long a long time to get through--a little dry.

Everyone should have this basic understanding of how our bodies crave food. Knowing the science behind why my body is craving salt/sugar/fat will help me continue to make better choices in the future.
