3.5 stars Good but it could have been better.
Well, I didn't hate this book...but I didn't love it either. The first part until about 30% was completely unnecessary and boring...and I almost DNF before that. It got better after that when they both started to realise their feelings but it still took until 70% before things really happened romantically with the characters. They also seemed a lot younger than their age and the fifteen years seemed way too long to have them not own up to their feelings. And not once did I laugh reading a book that was supposed to be a rom-com.
The backstory chapters were always not needed...and I skimmed them. This was my first Max Monroe read and I'm torn about reading more. Maybe one day...

Couldn’t read this book fast enough! I laughed (love Ava so much!) cried and swooned. Each book is my new favorite. Of course this one was special. Love the holiday theme and LOVED Thatch & Co appearances ;) I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Soooooo… It. Was. So. Good.
I smiled, I laughed, I cried. It was perfect on its own way.
« You’re it for me Ava » well Luke you’re it for me too.
I had a hard time getting really into it but man I couldn’t take a break from 50% til the end
Ava is the perfect MC, Luke is the boyfriend we all dream about and here I am crying because it was cute and it made me feel warm
It’s, hands down, the best friends-to-lovers and fake-boyfriend book I have read in a looong time

Had I know this would be a Hallmark story, I wouldn’t have chosen it. Thankfully, it was free on Audible. FMC is highly annoying by being unassertive in what she wants and completely oblivious to what is going on with her (what happens in the end). Could have used more spice, too.
