I can't say enough about this book and how much it helped us during the first year with our baby. It literally had answers for everything and reading a couple of chapters in advance gave us a heads up for what's coming so we could make the necessary preparations (or at least brace ourselves). It was always by my bedside and I consulted the website many times when I was away from home. Every problem we had with breastfeeding, sleeping, solid foods etc. was resolved with the advice from this book. And, yes, it was a beautiful, but also really hard and exhausting year. I wonder what would it be like without it..
Fantastic book that really helped me through some anxious moments as a first time mom. Some of the stuff was hokey or dated (and I had an older copy of the book), but I will make sure to keep this one on my shelves.
Totally forgot that I was given this book a few months ago and picked it up last night. There is a lot of good information, answers to common questions and I really liked the milestone section by month where it says most babies will be doing this, some will be doing this, few will be doing this, as milestones are not concrete and will vary baby to baby. I definitely liked it better than the original What To Expect book, there seems to be less cutesy language and it's more straightford. I will definitely be referencing it for health information as she gets older.
This is probably as close to an instruction manual for babies as you can get. It covers a very diverse range of topics. While I didn't agree with all of the advice given, it is a great starting point and has lots of ideas on issues I hadn't thought of or encountered before. I would recommend it for new parents.
Excelente libro de referencia para el primer año del bebé. Siempre y cuando estés consciente de que cada niño es diferente, y que todo lo que se explica es una referencia, y no necesariamente todo aplica a tu bebé.
Informative, and a nice read in between baby naps but no ground breaking information there. Nice to see that my baby was relatively in line with the milestones outlined.
