The core idea of this series is very intriguing but the true potential of it is untapped by the author. I was disappointed with how it all came to an end. Also the writing throughout has been very mediocre and convenient in a wishful thinking sort of a way. It does have dark elements to it and isn't a happily ever after story but the author never goes to the depth of any matter and writes on a very superficial level which leads to just an easy , don't really need to think, sort of a read.
I can't express the pain and joy this book made me feel. I'm so glad Billy's a grandfather tho. Also I loved the acknowledgements.
4.5 stars
I really enjoyed this series man. After finishing the third book in this series, Scribd put me in audiobook jail and would have had to wait a month to pick this up. I needed to know what happened next and ran to my local bookstore to pick it up. I didn't finish it as quickly as I would have liked but that's a different story lol. When I did pick it up, I read it in two sittings and when working and going to school full time reading a physical book is a lot harder.
I had to dock half a star off because for me, the pacing was a little slow to start but once it picked up it was hard to put down.
Kendare Blake does a really good job at making you sympathize with all the queens. I started this series knowing who I wanted to win and be the one true queen but that all goes to the wayside when you get to know these queens. And because of that, I was afraid that Blake would hold back in this last book. *spoiler alert* she does not do that. I cried three separate times reading this and that has NEVER happened before.
it was a bittersweet end and this series wormed its way onto my favorites list

For me, this was a hard one. I enjoyed the series but feel like this book wasn't necessary, as the outcome was pretty much revealed in book three. There was one character ending i wasn't expecting which redeemed it for me. I would recommend the series as an enjoyable YA series but it doesn't necessarily break the mould.

There was definitely a lot going on in this book and I just wanted to find out what the ending was.
The writing itself was a little confusing at times and things definitely moved very quickly.
It is sad to finish a series, but overall would say that this series is a 4/5 stars for me (?). really enjoyed getting to know the characters, and didn’t expect some of the plot twists, but at times, there were just too many people and too many things happening at the same time.

A wonderfully crafted series. I am only sad to have to say goodbye to these carefully curated Queens!
The conclusion to an awesome series.
