Started cleverly, but, like many satires, went on too long. I skimmed (skum?).
Ugh, this left a bad taste in my mouth. The storytelling held my interest, but the authors really hit you over the head with their criticism of white, male-dominated corporate culture. I mean, yeah, it's worth critiquing, but have some finesse, please. Blackett and Gleichman did not oblige: gays and theys good, cis/het bad, now you know the whole story, sorry for the spoilers.
I am really surprised by the 3 stars and below ratings. The writing was wonderful. There were a few times for me where I said to myself, yah yah yah, a serviceable sofa with the constant product descriptions, and yet -- the characters were interesting and engaging. The plot moved and took me in places I did not see coming (maybe others did?). I will recommend this to friends. Offbeat and great fun.

A solid 3.5 .... enjoyed it. Not Elanor Oliphant good, but quite enjoyable and hard to put down at the end.

Yay great book. Easy to read and get into, keeps you on your toes, at the same time you learn to identify a bit with the main character and her journey of finding love.
if i had a nickel for every time i read a book about a fictional company modeled after ikea, i’d have two nickels. which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice.
