There was no real depth to the characters so I couldn't form a connection to them. The book also, at times, felt really fast paced and things were thought to be taken at face value.
Overall an OK read. There was a lot of potential but it feels like it got lost somewhere on the way.

This is a Pumpkin Spice Latte in book form! Imagine Heartstopper, but set in a creepy Stars Hollow, with gorgeous, atmospheric descriptions and characters that you will fall in love with immediately. I loved the premise of this book so much, and was even more excited when it delivered on every count. If you are looking for the perfect book to get you into the autumn mood, you should definitely pick this one up!

Koko pikkukaupungin väki on siitä täysin vakuuttuneita, eikä kukaan halua koskaan lähestyä taloa. "I don't know", he said eventually. "I always thought I was normal." --
"You're having a picnic in a graveyard."
"At least you're not boring."
"That's what my mom says", Pax said brightly.
"What are you doing here?" Sal asked. --
"I live here", Pax said.
Sal looked around at the rows of gravestones, and back at Pax. "You what?"
Pax pointed throught the trees opposite them, to a crumbling stone cottage -- "We live in the old graveyard keeper's cottage", he said. "So this is basically my garden." (s. 23-26)
Aluksi Sal pitää Paxia aivan liian outona, mutta kun törmää häneen toistuvasti niin koulussa kuin muutenkin, hän huomaa jossain vaiheessa viihtyvänsä tämän kanssa. Etenkin Paxin persoonallinen huone on Salin turvasatama, jossa hän voi nukkua, kun talon öiset äänet alkavat kerryttää liikaa univelkaa. Pax on todella samanhenkinen kuin Salaman hahmo Bee, he voisivat hyvin jakaa saman vaatekaapin.

this book was a cute easy read for me! i definitely judged the book by its cover but it was a great time regardless! i did have trouble with the formating on ereaders, and was a little lost in places which is why i lowered the rating from a 5 star book to a 3.5.
this is definitely an amazingly talented author and i cannot wait to read more of their books in the future.

I am sorry but the audacity of Fran Hart to write such a heartwarming, queer, sweet yet funny book with an unexpected mystery... I just can't
I adored this book so much. My fave character was Pax.. hands down.. Just a shinning light of positivitiy and unaashamedly himself. I wanted to just hug him and protect him!!
I binged this in a few hours and it was a rollercoaster of emotions. I cried. I laughed .. I was angry at some of the characters, frustrated at times too but the whole experience was worth it !!
