I really liked this book! It was a shorter story, fairytale like, where I laughed several times. Each that composed thia group, were each an interesting piece in the story!

The only thing is, the story was quite interesting, so I would've loved more depth in the characters and perhaps even the lands. More about the blistering lands and where exactly this is, the magic, etc

I think because of this lack of depth, I can not give it higher, but it was still a really nice read, and I still recommend it! 🫶

So good !!!
This review will be quick because I'm catching up on my late reviews, and there are a lot.
I find in this novel what I had loved in "The nine goblins" : found family, magic, hardships, a bit of horror, quest, characters that are not what they usually are in most books (older, plumper, or even possessed chickens). That's what I like with T. Kingfisher so far : so many things are unexpected.
My review will be short but my conclusion will draw a long way : I absolutely need to read everything she has ever written.
Strongly recommended !
