very trophy and i couldn’t find myself connecting to any of the characters. i didn’t have an awful time but it was just nothing i havent read before unfortunately. i might continue the series but it’s incredibly low on my priority list.

If you want so badly to enjoy the popular romantsy books but can't get past the all the bioessentialism and unfulfilled promise of a morally gray main character, The Broken Blade just might be for you.

I was not engaged with the characters or story line. I kept making excuses to not read it.

I struggled a little to keep my interest but was better at the halfway point. I loved the story and the people. Damn the cliffhanger. I did not see that coming

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I've been really picky about romantacy lately but found the fantasy focus with a slight romantic subplot plot to be refreshing.
I loved the ToG vibes without trying to BE ToG!
My only complaint about it was the over use of the word "smirk" and I wished I had the ebook so I could search and see how many times it was used cuz I was like "ffs learn a new facial expression "
