This book really grew on me! I won’t lie, the first quarter to half of the book, the main character was obnoxious (maybe that was the point? At least from a narrative stand point). Keera definitely grew on me though, and she’s a very sympathetic character whose arc became more interesting as time went on. The twist at the end wasn’t surprising *per se* but there was still enough twist that I was pleasantly surprised!

Llegué a este libro por recomendación de una amiga que, a pesar de no ser una fan de la fantasía, sabe reconocer un gran libro cuando lo lee. Para ser el primer libro de Blair, quedé sorprendida. Su capacidad de construir la historia de Keera junto con una historia de amor que no vi venir y que no me pareció forzada ni que sobrara es bastante destacable. Estoy esperando con ansias ir a comprar la segunda parte para ver qué pasa con una historia que tuvo vuelcos que hacían difícil soltar el libro y que me llegó a tener emocionalmente comprometida.

There were moments that I wanted to throw the FMC out the window, but I kept reading. It’s a good story about giving up and giving in then working towards better. I appreciated world and character building (trilogy book 1) and eventually found myself wanting the FMC to thrive and triumph.

Actually really liked the fmc(and the fact she was 60 years old), just didn't feel any chemistry between the leads. Also accidently found a spoiler for the 3rd book that I hated
