Being told by both women’s perspectives was so interesting- especially given the topic of the book.
I have no words other than to say this book was amazing!!
I usually am reading 3-5 books at a time. I take breaks and alternate depending on my mood. This book had me drop my 3 other books because it was so good I had to finish it!

Good story, good conversation starter, just felt a bit superficial. It’s such a tough subject to tackle, but it lacked realism for me.
And what is a happy ending or a satisfying conclusion for this? It doesn’t exist. A boy is dead at the hands of cops. Again.

The chapters were very long , which I don’t like but overall the book wasn’t… if that makes sense to anyone else. Overall all as a black woman it does make me think of my relationships with my non black friends and my comfortability to have race conversations with them and wonder if they don’t see color because it’s not something they have to worry about or fear. Very serious and difficult to read because it can upset you with all events of police brutality and racism.
