Here are the reasons I'm disappointed:

Prologue unnecessary except to use the word lesbionage and reference alternate uses for a hair bush handle.

Can't stay consistent between three books. First two Nate had an unwavering purple halo now it's crimson? A third of the way through the book and Nate's halo is purple again. It alternates a few more times and if this is how character development is shown, weak.

After reading the mixed reactions of other reviews about the ending it actually earned another star for the last thrilling chapters alone. Could not put it down.

I loved this series, I love Matthews' style, I love the intrigue and the cities and the travel and the food and the espionage and the drama. I'm so sad it's over! A worthy end to the trilogy

Conclusion to the Sparrow trilogy. Truly enjoyed all 3 books, with the 1st and 3rd being the best. Matthews did a solid job is closing this out while uncannily writing fictional events years ago that are now actually happening in the world. Highly recommend if you’re into spy/espionage thrillers. It was neat to see the author’s past CIA experience woven throughout the book.

**the recipes at the end of every chapter are a pleasant bonus

WARNING- There are semi-graphic love scenes & violence, but it isn’t the entirety of the book.

As with the other Jason Matthews books, 4.5 for spy craft and local color, 2.0 for eye-rolling 70’s soft porn-style sex scenes (nipples called “shipyard rivets”)—which I was able to mainly ignore through the audiobooks “fast advance” feature  and fascination with recipes.  Can’t imagine any LeCarre fan saying, “Sure wish this had more swearing and soft porn and recipes” but maybe that’s just me. Recommended with reservations.

This is an outstanding spy novel! Real characters, real feelings, intriguing storyline. 4.5 stars!

I liked the whole Red Sparrow Trilogy, this final book was a decent ending to this thrilling journey. I loved the characters of the CIA team - Benford, Gable, Forsyth and Nash of course. Dominyika is a stubborn but smart girl, she learned everything in this spy-world to be a really good asset in this dangerous game called espionage.
SpoilerMy heart is aching for everyone… but it had to end like this. The last pages were perfect for finish this story.

Jason Matthews did a very good job writing this trilogy.

The series as a whole was great, character development was on point and the conflict they faced was well described and conflict had time to build. The ending - it does make sense, to make it seem no more important than any of the other characters but damn. It almost felt rushed or forced with how quick everything transpired, the ending was not predictable but you could see it happening.

I do not usually write anything after ratings but I have to say that I absolutely loved this series and even enjoyed this book until the end. There was zero satisfaction at the end for me. Spoilers.... Nate's death was to keep her safe but she ended up right back where she started and lost all the people she trusted. I really was rooting for Dominika and she climbed the ladder in politics but was still under Putin's thumb to do with as he pleased. Ugh I'm incredibly disappointed in the ending of this book.

Dominika, Nate and his CIA colleagues must catch the traitor that is about to exposure Dominika’s double agent status.

With any information leak, her cover will be blown and she knows she will suffer sever consequences for her betrayal.

The pressure builds up with her trip to Putin’s presidential palace on the Black Sea on a power weekend, surrounded by those in his inner circle.

Difficult decisions must be made and sacrifices will save some, but take out others out of the game. Who will be saved? Who will be sacrificed? Who will face the deadly consequences?

Another great book although this one was tougher than the others. Putin is seriously gross.
